The Accountant will be responsible for managing the\ngeneral accounting operations of the company to ensure accuracy, compliance\nwith the regulation.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nBookkeeping and\nAccounting\nEnsuring on a daily basis that Financial and Accounting data are input\nby finance team in Group's accounting software\nExamination of data input to test validity, reliability and correct\nposting\nEnsure that bank accounts are reconciled and up to date on a weekly\nbasis\nPrepare financial statements for the group and other entities on a\nmonthly basis\nEnsure that the financial statements are in accordance with IAS and IFRS\nand that filing with regulatory bodies are done within deadline\nMaintaining Fixed Asset Register\nPreparation of budget and cash flow forecast\nEnsure that the actual monthly figures are in line with the budget and\nhighlight deviations. \nAssess areas where cost savings can be made \nTaxation\n\nCompute taxes and file relevant returns as appropriate within statutory\ndeadlines\nReview and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT through the MNS\nsystem\nPerform tax and APS computations and ensure respective electronic\nfilings are made within deadline\nReview and submission of monthly and annual TDS returns through the MNS\nsystem\nAssist in dealing with queries from the MRA and other investigative\nbodies\nTreasury Management\n\nAssist the CFO to manage the group’s cash flows [bank and cash balances]\non a daily basis\nSafeguard the Groups' treasury against theft, fraud or similar criminal\nacts\nMaintaining Petty cash records\nEnsure that the Group has sufficient funds in its bank accounts before\nany cheques are issued and signed by bank signatories and provide balance as at\ndate to the Management\nGive instructions to team members for the preparation of cheques and\nbank transfers\nReply to queries raised by the group's bankers and provide them with all\nrequired evidence and explanations\nInitiate payments on Internet Banking\nVerify accuracy of payments via cheques and bank transfers before\nsending to bank signatories. \n\nAssistance to Group\nAccountant, Tax Advisor and External Auditors\n\nTo provide account listing, replying to queries and provide documentary\nevidence within reasonable time to Tax advisor and other external auditors\n\nDocumentation and\nmeetings\n\nOperate a good filing system and ensure that all account files are well\nindexed and classified\nEnsure that the Group's financial and accounting data on its computer\nsystem are backed-up regularly for easy retrieval\nTo hold internal meetings with accounting team to ensure smooth running\nof department\nTo ensure that the accounts dept team treat all information and\ndocuments with strict confidentiality\nAttending in-house and\nmandatory workshops and relevant trainings\n24 hours response time\nwhere applicable\nContributing ideas to\nimprove processes to either gain efficiencies or reduce risk\nFilling up of\ntimesheet within a reasonable timeframe\nAny other reasonable\nduties assigned to you by Management\nCompliance and Quality Assurance\nEnsures that company\nand quality standards are met and communicated.\nQualifications required\n\n Fully\nqualified ACCA member with 3 years’ experience in similar post or partly\ncompleted ACCA level three with 5 years’ experience in similar post\nCompetencies\n\nExcellent communication skills\nGood Time Management\nAbility to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines\nProfessionalism and ethics\nProfessional Knowledge\nAbility to foresee problems with regards to cashflow and prevent them by\ntaking appropriate actions\nLiving the values of\nthe
