What we can say is that we’re a driven, progressive, and, importantly, a kind bunch of 850+ people from over 100 nationalities, all committed to delivering the future of business spending, together.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for aFraud Analyst to join Pleo’s Decision Intelligence team and help strengthen how we detect, prevent, monitor, and respond to fraud risk across our financial crime decisioning setup.\nThis is not a traditional Fraud Operations case-handling role. You will work closer to the decisioning layer: helping translate fraud patterns into rules, monitoring rule performance, supporting rule testing, reviewing alert behaviour, and making sure fraud controls remain effective, explainable, and proportionate.\nYou will join at an important stage as Pleo continues to mature its fraud and AML decisioning capability. The right person will help improve speed, resilience, and quality in how we create, test, deploy, monitor, and tune fraud rules.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nYou will help operate and improve Pleo’s fraud decisioning capability, with a focus on card fraud and related financial crime risk scenarios.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nSupporting the end-to-end fraud rule lifecycle: from rule proposal and analysis through testing, deployment, monitoring, tuning, and rollback.\n\nWorking directly in, or closely with, decisioning tools and rule engines to support fraud detection logic.\n\nAnalysing fraud patterns, alert trends, false positives, false negatives, and rule performance.\n\nTranslating FraudOps insights and stakeholder requests into clear, structured rule proposals.\n\nHelping assess whether new rules or threshold changes are justified by data.\n\nMonitoring post-deployment rule performance and identifying when rules need adjustment.\n\nSupporting daily operational requests related to fraud controls, while ensuring changes are traceable and well documented.\n\nPartnering with FraudOps, AML, Product, Engineering, Data, Compliance, and Legal to make sure decisioning changes are aligned and risk-aware.\n\nMaintaining clear documentation for fraud rules, rationale, expected impact, testing outcomes, and monitoring results.\n\nHelping reduce single points of failure by building repeatable processes and stronger business continuity around fraud decisioning.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nWe are looking for someone who combines fraud domain knowledge with practical experience working in a decisioning environment.\nYou should have:\nExperience as a Fraud Analyst, Risk Analyst, Fraud Strategy Analyst, Fraud Rules Analyst, Decisioning Analyst, or similar.\n\nHands-on experience with a decisioning tool, fraud rules engine, risk platform, or internal decisioning system.\n\nExperience creating, testing, monitoring, or tuning fraud rules, thresholds, scenarios, or risk logic.\n\nStrong analytical skills and comfort working with data to assess rule performance and fraud patterns.\n\nGood understanding of fraud typologies, especially card fraud, transaction fraud, account misuse, or payment fraud.\n\nAbility to balance fraud prevention with customer impact and operational workload.\n\nExperience working with false positives and understanding that good fraud controls require continuous monitoring and tuning.\n\nStrong written communication skills, with the ability to explain rule logic, rationale, risks, and expected outcomes clearly.\n\nComfort working cross-functionally with FraudOps, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Data teams.\n\nA structured mindset and appreciation for documentation, traceability, governance, and change control.\n\nFintech, banking, payments, spend management, or regulated financial services.\n\nSQL or basic data analysis.\n\nWhat success looks like\nIn your first 3 months, success would look like:\nYou understand Pleo’s fraud decisioning setup and can confidently support day-to-day rule operations.\n\nFraud rule requests are better structured, documented, and traceable.\n\nRule changes are supported by data, clear rationale, and expected impact.\n\nPost-deployment monitoring is more consistent and visible.\n\nFraudOps and DI have a stronger operating rhythm for proposing, reviewing, deploying, and tuning fraud controls.\n\nWhy join us?\nThis is a rare opportunity to help shape a growing decisioning function from the inside.
