As such, this is a heavy travel position (up to 100%). This role requires excellent mechanical aptitude and a high degree of familiarity with industrial hydrogen systems and performance. This position also requires the ability to be on-call and to respond to urgent needs so that customer sites maintain hydrogen production around the clock. The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively among cross-functional departments with an emphasis on helping to improve electrolyzers system designs and resolve defects based upon field experience and data. This position is also critical to interface with customer stakeholders and exceed their expectations for service thereby furthering Plug Power's reputation as the leader in hydrogen fuel cell power solutions.\nCore Duties and Responsibilities\nTravel as needed to customer sites to perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing and commissioning of Plug power products including hydrogen storage infrastructure, electrolyzers, and stationary.\nExecute and lead high level service repair projects on existing hydrogen infrastructure, including specialized service procedures including liquid tank repairs and vacuum jacket line repairs, etc.\nProvide training to first responders, customers, and other Plug service personnel on troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of Hydrogen infrastructure.\nSupport the commissioning and ongoing maintenance and operation of industrial hydrogen infrastructure including but not limited to:Interpreting electrical wiring schematics\nConducting Point to Point functionality testing\nPressure testing of piping systems per ASME standards\nTesting and troubleshooting program issues with engineering assistance.\nInspecting of process piping systems (pressure ratings, fittings, etc.)\nProvide documented results from system testing and commissioning at the completion of each project.\nCreate, track, and close out project task lists.\nKnowledge of environmental impact on equipment function and performance\nAbility to safely operate and control combustibles.\nAbility to diagnose system problems and troubleshoot solutions.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and P&IDs.\n\nDemonstrated ability to interact with customers and external vendors professionally and effectively.\nMust be able to operate independently with minimal supervision while achieving high quality results in work assignments.\nMust be able to adapt to changing requirements and meet project commitments/objectives without sacrificing workmanship or quality.\nShares ideas about process improvements and other cost saving measures with project team and management.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical specifications.\nMaintain a focus around safety in all facets of work and ensure that all relevant parties are educated on the safe operation of hydrogen equipment and infrastructure.\nRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.\nPerform all other duties as assigned and required within role.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation and Experience\nThree (3) or more years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance in an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field.\nAssociates degree or vocational degree in engineering, electronics, pressurized systems or other applicable field of study preferred.
