Working in conjunction with the sales and engineering teams as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Field Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction. The occupant of this role must evaluate customer technical requirements against current cryogenic equipment solutions. If the needs of the customer cannot be met with the approved Cryo solutions, the Field Application Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to find a technical solution meeting customer needs. The ideal candidate for this role must have a firm technical grasp on Plug Power products and technical requirements while also possessing a robust interpersonal skill set enabling effective customer relations and leadership of project teams.\nCore Duties and Responsibilities\nMaintain expert level technical knowledge of Plug Power products and solutions; most notably the Cryo equipment and services solutions and field applications.\nSupport the Sales team with the following:\nArticulating Cryo technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.\nAssisting the Sales team to provide the Cryo solutions that will maximize the benefits for customers.\nListening, understanding and conveying customer requirements.\nInterfacing with customer & Plug personnel throughout the selling/delivery process\nRespond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.\nAssist in the development of technical solutions to address specific constraints for customer field applications.\nAssist in the design and development of new solutions by gathering field data related to customer needs; work cross-functionally to implement new solutions and new product offerings as the organization evolve\nPerform technical/ product training for salespeople and customers.\nPerform all other duties as assigned\nEducation and Experience\nBS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or other relevant technical field of study.\n3+ years of related work history; preferably experience with integrating technical solutions in the field for customer stakeholders.\nAbility to travel as needed to perform the duties of the role; up to 40%.\nProven ability to successfully develop technical solutions in a variety of environments while considering a multitude of constraints.\nExperience in any of the following spheres of activity is preferred and highly valued:\nCryogenic storage, transportation and processing industry\nIndustrial gas suppliers, processors, & logistics\nIndustrial applications using LH2, LNG, LIN, LOX, LAR, LCO2, etc.\nHigh Pressure Systems (250 Bar and up)\nGas processing and/or dispensing equipment\nLogistics, transportation, and material handling\nPrior experience in sales is desirable.\nComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
