Working in conjunction with the sales and engineering teams as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Field Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction. The occupant of this role must evaluate customer technical requirements against approved Electrolyser solutions. If the needs of the customer cannot be met with the approved Electrolyser solutions, the Field Application Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to find a technical solution meeting customer needs. The ideal candidate for this role must have the ability to gain a firm technical grasp on Plug Power products and technical requirements while also possessing a robust interpersonal skill set enabling effective customer relations and leadership of project teams.\nCore Duties and Responsibilities\nMaintain expert level technical knowledge of Plug Power products and solutions; most notably Electrolyser systems, Fuel Cell systems, Infrastructure and field applications.\nAttend meetings with the sales team while lending help with the following:\nArticulating Electrolyser systems, Fuel Cell systems, Infrastructure technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.\nListening, understanding and conveying customer requirements.\nAssisting the sales team on all application recognition to provide the Fuel Cell systems, Infrastructure and electrolysers solutions as an option that will maximize the benefit for customers.\nHelp to calibrate expectations for product solution rollouts between customer stakeholders and PLUG project teams.\nRespond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.\nAssist in the development of technical solutions to address specific constraints for customer field applications.\nPerform technical/ product training for sales people and customers.\nAssist in the design and development of new solutions by gathering field data related to customer needs; work cross-functionally to implement new solutions and new product offerings as the organization evolves.\nPerform all other duties as assigned.\nEducation and Experience\nBS in mechanical engineering or other relevant engineering field of study.\n3+ years of related work history; preferably experience with integrating technical solutions in the field for customer stakeholders.\nAbility to travel as needed to perform the duties of the role; up to 50%.\nProven ability to successfully develop technical solutions in a variety of environments while taking into account a multitude of constraints.\nExperience within industrial markets (e.g. automotive, aeronautical, oil & gas)\nExperience in any of the following spheres of activity is desired:Hydrogen and/or fuel cells and/or Electrolyser\nIndustrial gas\nCryogenic Industry\nHigh Pressure Systems (250 Bar and up)\nGas processing and/or dispensing equipment\nOil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc.\n\nCapabilities in all of the following areas are essential:Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nUncompromising dedication to quality.\nDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.\nAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.\nExcellent follow-through.\nMust be driven and self-motivated.\nTeamwork oriented and focused.\nFluency in English and Spanish is essential, other languages are greatly appreciated\n\nDon’t meet every single requirement?
