Whether you’re continuing to build your welding skills or bring years of experience to the table, we’re interested in candidates who take pride in their work, value safety, and are committed to quality.\nThe welder is responsible for the construction of various products primarily focusing on welding and fabrication techniques. The welder will follow the process below in every welding scenario (I, P, W, C, I)\nIdentify materials to be welded and appropriate welding/ fabrication method.\nPrepare and fit materials for welding/ fabrication using grinders, clamps, tape measures, etc.\nWeld materials within the WPS parameters per the engineering weld callout.\nClean welded materials.\nInspect welds to ensure quality standards and engineering weld callouts have been met.\n Core Duties and Responsibilities\nOperate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision\nRead blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures\nDetermine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements\nSet up components for welding according to specifications\nOperate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded\nAlign components using calipers, tape measures, etc. and clamp pieces\nWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)\nAble to determine that weld meets ASME specifications\nAvailable Levels\nWelder I: Entry to developing experience - 1-5 years\nWelder II: Intermediate experience - 5-8 years\nSenior Welder: Advanced experience - 8+ years\nEducation and Experience\nThe ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail\nKnowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential\nProven experience as welder\nExperience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW)\nExperience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)\nAbility to read and interpret technical documents and drawings\nKnowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)\nMinimum one year welding and fabrication experience\nWelding Assessment\nAll candidates must successfully pass an on-site welding test.\nPay Rate:\n$21.00 - $29.50We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:\nBase salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
