PlumpJack Winery, located in the acclaimed Oakville AVA, is home to some of the finest Cabernets in Napa Valley. CADE Estate Winery on Howell Mountain features unique, higher elevation terrain that produces distinctive characteristics due to its rocky, volcanic soil and cooler climate. Lastly, our 13th Vineyard is rooted in its history as the 13th bonded winery in California and is located adjacent to CADE Estate on Howell Mountain. All four feature award-winning estate wines and tasting experiences.\nPurpose of the role:\nThe Tasting Room Wine Educator position focuses on presentation and sales of wine through daily tastings and tours. This is a multi-faceted position that requires initiative, vision, a high energy level, and an entrepreneurial spirit.\nResponsibilities:\nPrepare the tasting room for opening and closing daily in accordance with SOPs.\nPresents selected wines for tasting and assists consumers with their purchases.\nOperates cash registers and credit card terminals accurately and efficiently.\nProcess carry out orders, phone orders, and wine shipping orders in compliance with federal and state regulations.\nReceive and store the weekly wine restock in the wine storage area.\nStocks merchandise and supplies as needed.\nParticipate in daily inventories.\nChecks identification as required by state regulation for serving alcoholic beverages.\nRecognizes the symptoms of intoxication and informs a manager.\nRepresents the company and brand, professionally, graciously, and enthusiastically.\nAble to multitask and complete other duties as assigned.\nRepresent and market PlumpJack in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote PlumpJack internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.\nPromote and comply with all policies and procedures of PlumpJack.\nImmediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.\nMaintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment.\nAttend all mandatory meetings as directed.\nPerform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.\nAdhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook. To report to work as scheduled and be prepared to start work.\nMaintain a professional demeanor by wearing appropriate attire and maintaining good cleanliness.\n\nCandidate requirements:\nMinimum 1 year tasting room experience\nDiplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills. \nCourteous, friendly, and professional manner. \nGood team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.\nAbility to work in a collaborative environment\nStrong understanding of core accounting concepts, data entry with a high level of detail.\nExcellent knowledge of MS Office environment (Word, Excel), AMS, Commerce7, or other POS environments.\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must\nMust have sound judgment, versatility, and flexibility. \nWorking Conditions:\nConstantly moving between in and outdoor environment throughout shift. Indoors, works in clean, adequately lighted space. Exposed to weather conditions while seating guests outdoors. Work areas may be noisy and crowded. Makes frequent trips to kitchen where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods. Extensive facility with varied terrain.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nStands/walks approximately 90% of the shift. Sits at the desk or in meetings approximately 10% of the shift. Uses the computer approximately 30% of the shift, depending upon current projects. Constantly required to interact with people of all kinds in a courteous, friendly, helpful, and diplomatic manner. Heavy use of phones, daily. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over short distances. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours.
