You will work closely with developers to find and verify fixes, with product owners to confirm the product does what they intended, and with customers to understand how it is used in the field.\nThis is a senior level position; we are not considering entry-level candidates for this role.\nEssential Functions\nSoftware Testing and Automation\nDefine and implement testing strategies for new and existing products, covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and stability testing\nCreate detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, test cases, and documentation from requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria\nDevelop and maintainautomated test suites to validatefunctionality, performance, and stability. Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines so builds are validatedbefore release. Perform manual tests when automation isn't feasible\nBuild internal tools and scripts to optimizeand automate QA workflows, test data collection, and log analysis\nDeployment, Debugging, and Defect Management\nInstall, deploy, and configure software builds and deploy packages on Linux-based industrial PCs (IPCs) and test systems\nRead stack traces, application logs, and system output to isolate where and why a failure occurred, and deliver actionable findings to developers\nIdentify, thoroughly document, and track bugs in GitLab throughout the development cycle, with clear steps to reproduce and supporting logs or screenshots. Work with developers to verify fixes and confirm no regressions\nUse git and GitLab daily to check out branches and tags under test, review merge requestsand pipelines to understand what changed, and manage issues and epics\nHardware and System Testing\nPerform hands-on testing of POR robotic systems, including InductOne, verifying that software, electrical, and mechanical sub-systems work together end to end\nTroubleshoot at the system level to determinewhether a fault originates in software, electrical, or mechanical sub-systems\nCollaboration and Leadership\nBe an advocate for our customers and end users by holding a high standard for quality and usability\nWork with product owners to confirm features meet requirements and intended customer use, and participatein acceptance and release sign-off\nPresent QA data, test results, and analyses to stakeholders, including customers, leadership, and cross-functional teams, in a clear, accessible manner tailored to the audience\nMentor interns and junior-level teammates by sharing QA best practices, providingtechnical guidance, reviewing their work, and supporting their professional development\nQualifications\nRequired\nStrong software QA fundamentals: test strategy, test plan development, test case design, bug reporting, regression testing, fix verification, and acceptance testing\nProficient in Python, TypeScript, or a similar language used in test automation\nWorking proficiencywith the Linux command line, including file system navigation, permissions, SSH, managing services, and reading logs\nExperience installing and deploying software builds or deploy packages to test or production systems\nExperience with git and GitLab (or GitHub): branches, tags, merge requests, and issue tracking\nExperience testing hardware or physical systems, or a demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn hands-on hardware testing\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English\nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment\nPreferred\nExperience with testing frameworks such as Pytest, Puppeteer, Playwright, or similar. Familiarity with C++\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab CI\nExperience with Docker or other containerized deployments\nRequired Education and Experience\nA bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience\n5+ years of experience in QA or test engineering, with the majority in software testing\n2+ years of hands-on experience developing software test automation\nExperience testing products that combine software and hardware, such as robotics, automation, or embedded systems\nWork Environment & Travel\nThis position operates in a professional office setting with occasional exposure to robotic systems and moving mechanical parts.The noise level in the work environment and job sites may at times be loud.\nThere is some travel expected for the purposes of customer support and deployments. \nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work/Locatio\nFull time, 40 hours/week between M-F, 9:00am-6:00pm, In office at our San Antonio based HQ.\nSalary Information\nThe range for this role starts at $112,000 per year.
