The Senior Director will have a vision to create unique experiences in what has become a crowded marketplace. Working across editorial, sales, marketing, operations, and executive leadership, the Senior Director will create industry-defining events that convene the world's most influential owners, commissioners, investors, athletes, executives, policymakers, and innovators.\nThe successful candidate understands that exceptional events are both world-class editorial experiences and scalable businesses. They are equally comfortable selling a presenting sponsorship, recruiting a Fortune 100 CEO to speak, building a five-year growth strategy or launching an entirely new event franchise.\nSportico values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture. \nResponsibilities\nLead Sportico's overall live events strategy, business development, and long-term growth.\nOversee planning and execution of a portfolio of Sportico's flagship events, including invite-only bespoke gatherings.\nDevelop innovative strategies to boost ticket sales and attendee engagement.\nWork with marketing to maximize audience growth, event visibility, and post-event engagement.\nTravel frequently to oversee major events and develop new business opportunities.\nOwn program development and speaker strategy for thought leadership conferences: design session formats and agendas, and identify, recruit, and manage high-profile speakers, moderators, and panelists.\nBuild and maintain relationships across venues, production vendors, and agencies.\nNegotiate contracts and manage third-party partners to deliver events on brand and on budget.\nOwn event budgets and P&L, including forecasting, cost tracking, and managing spend to deliver events on budget while maintaining quality.\nEvent Portfolio\nThe Senior Director will oversee a growing portfolio of premium events spanning the global sports industry, including:\nSports investing\nWomen's sports business\nExecutive leadership summits\nEmerging sectors shaping the future of sports business\nQualifications\nMinimum 8+ years of experience leading conferences, live events, sponsorship sales, business development, executive programming, or media events.\nDemonstrated success growing event businesses through sponsorships, ticket sales, partnerships, and new product development.\nProven ability to build and monetize premium B2B conferences and executive experiences.\nExperience recruiting high-profile speakers, moderators, and industry leaders.\nStrong understanding of the global sports industry and its executive ecosystem.\nWhat We're Looking For\nThe ideal candidate is a builder. They combine strategic vision with operational excellence, understand the economics of premium live media businesses, and have the creativity to imagine what Sportico's next signature event should be.\nA good faith estimate of the salary range is $100k - $125k upon hire + bonus.
