Job Description

TheSenior Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing category strategies to drive sales growth, profitability, and market competitiveness. The role oversees product assortment, supplier management, pricing strategies, and category performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product offerings and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.
Manage product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms.
Analyze market trends, customer insights, and sales performance to identify growth opportunities.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure effective category execution.
Monitor inventory levels, product lifecycle, and demand planning to ensure optimal stock availability.
Evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare reports and insights on category performance, sales forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
Lead and mentor category management team members when applicable.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
At least 6-10 years of experience in category management, merchandising, procurement, or related roles.
Proven experience managing product categories and supplier relationships.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and category management systems is an advantage.
