Job Description

  • Leads the technology risk discipline, driving the execution and continuous enhancement of the technology risk management framework across the Technology organization. Oversees identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of technology-related risks-including cybersecurity, data privacy, IT operations, and emerging technologies-ensuring alignment with business priorities, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations.
  • Implements and operationalizes the technology risk strategy and governance structures, ensuring consistent adoption of policies, standards, and practices across technology functions while establishing clear accountability and effective oversight.
  • Directs complex risk identification and assessment efforts, with a forward-looking focus on emerging technologies, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional risk exposures. Drives the design and adoption of mitigation strategies and control improvements.
  • Acts as a senior advisor and thought leader to technology and business leadership, shaping technology risk posture, influencing strategic decision-making, and driving the timely escalation, prioritization, and resolution of material risks across the organization.
  • Leads risk reporting, metrics, and analytics, delivering clear, actionable insights to senior leadership while fostering a strong risk-aware culture and strengthening organizational capability in managing technology risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Risk Governance and Oversight: Ensuring adherence to PNC's Technology Risk strategy, Enterprise Risk Framework, policies, and regulatory requirements. Candidate must have excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills.
  • Risk Reporting and Executive Communications: Developing and delivering risk reporting, key risk metrics, Technology Committee materials, and executive-level governance reporting. Improving the timeliness, quality, transparency, and effectiveness of executive risk reporting.
  • Controls and Compliance Management: Overseeing compliance with technology risk requirements, monitoring risk metrics, and ensuring effective execution of controls and oversight activities.
  • Leadership of a Technology Risk Team: Managing a team that includes Technology Risk Managers, Technology Risk Advisors, a Technology Risk Supervisor, and analytics resources.
  • Strategic Planning and Cross-Functional Coordination: Translating technology risk strategy into actionable plans, coordinating with business and technology stakeholders, and driving enterprise-wide risk and governance initiatives.
  • Talent Development and Organizational Leadership: Leading talent discussions, development planning, succession activities, and employee growth initiatives within the Technology Risk organization.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • Proven leadership experience with a large scope of responsibility is required.
