You’ll have the freedom to shape meaningful parts of our mobile experience, work closely with Product and Engineering, and solve real customer problems as we continue to evolve our app. We’re looking for someone with fresh ideas, great attention to detail and a real curiosity for how we can make the experience better.”\nWhat You'll Do:\nDesign across the mobile app:\n Produce polished, pixel-perfect, user-centred designs for key areas of our app, bringing fresh ideas and challenging the safe option where there is a better experience to be created\nHold a high bar for craft:\n Use Figma and Miro confidently, maintain handover-ready design files, test designs after build and use animation and motion where it improves the experience\nThink in journeys, not just screens:\n Consider the complete customer journey, map experiences, identify pain points and proactively recommend solutions\nContribute to our design system:\n Create new components, improve existing patterns and work closely with engineers to maintain consistency between design and development\nRun research end to end:\n Plan, facilitate and synthesise customer research, selecting the right methods and sharing insights across the wider team\nPlan and facilitate workshops:\n Create clear agendas, use appropriate frameworks, keep sessions focused and turn discussions into clear actions and next steps\nInterrogate briefs before you design:\n Build a full understanding of the problem, challenge assumptions and connect design decisions to both customer and business goals\nOwn your workload and outcomes:\n Manage your projects day to day, communicate progress, take ownership of blockers and bring in senior support when needed\nBuild accessibility in from the start:\n Apply accessibility principles consistently and independently, auditing your designs against WCAG 2.2 AA\nShare your craft:\n Continue developing your own design practice while sharing knowledge and helping raise design capability across the team.\n\nWhat You'll Bring: \nWe think this role would be great for somebody with solid mobile app design experience and a genuinely customer-centred approach. You’ll also bring:\nRelevant industry experience:\n Experience designing digital products within home energy, including solar, battery storage, heat pumps or EV charging, or another complex, hardware-adjacent environment\nA strong portfolio:\n Examples of polished, user-centred design, thoughtful problem solving and clear outcomes, ideally within mobile products\nSolid design fundamentals:\n A strong understanding of mobile usability, interaction patterns and accessibility standards, including WCAG\nIndependence with support:\n Confidence owning projects while knowing when to bring in senior support for larger or more complex challenges\nFacilitation and communication skills:\n The ability to run productive workshops, adapt your style to different audiences and proactively communicate progress and blockers\nComfort with data and AI:\n Experience using metrics, data and testing to improve designs, alongside an understanding of where AI tools can add value and where their limitations lie\nAttention to detail and organisation:\n Strong ownership of project outcomes with the ability to identify conflicts and risks early\nStrong engineering collaboration:\n The ability to work closely with engineers, understand technical constraints and make pragmatic design decisions\nA customer-centred approach:\n You ground your decisions in customer insight, research and real user behaviour rather than assumptions.\nWhat's In It For You?\nThis is a great opportunity to join Pod at an exciting point in the evolution of our app, with design playing an increasingly important role in the experience we create for our customers.
