The Machine Operator will be responsible for production, regulatory compliance, inventory, and shipping. The Machine Operator will troubleshoot and maintain the dry ice equipment as needed. The Machine Operator may at times be asked to assist Maintenance Technicians in more technical or complex maintenance procedures. Team members in this position are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment, and be aware of hazards associated with the process as well as understand and execute standard operating procedures. Continuous plant operation requires 12-hour shift work. Machine Operators must be able to adapt to 12-hour workdays and be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.\nThis is an on-site role located in Laddonia, MO. Responsibilities include:\nUse your knowledge to safely and efficiently operate the dry ice plant.\nOperate dry ice pelletizer, forklifts, pallet jacks, and sanitation equipment and chemicals.\nKeep the dry ice building and equipment clean inside and outside.\nPerform and document maintenance and repairs of equipment.\nPrepare shipping and other documents as required.\nOperate computers for both production and administrative tasks.\nFollow plant procedures for start-up and shutdown.\nMaintain accurate and timely logs.\nFoster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.\nMaintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.\nMaintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET’s products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.\nSince we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!\nQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS\nYou must be a self-starter and able to work safely and productively without close supervision. Experience in a production environment preferred.\nLight to medium maintenance experience preferred. Must also be able to operate machinery such as a payloader and Trackmobile for long periods of time\nContinuously:\nClimb stairs\n Walk indoors and outdoors, sometimes over rough, uneven, or wet surfaces\nFrequently:\nBe in awkward back, shoulder, wrists, and hand positions\nBend forward while standing\nReach overhead\nPull up to 40lbs\nKneel and crouch for up to 15 minutes at a time\nOccasionally:\nPull up to 95lbs, with or without assistance\nLift and carry up to 50lbs, with or without assistance\nGrip with a force of up to 80lbs\nSit for 15 minutes on a stool, sometimes rotation sitting\nPinch with a force of 20lbs\nPush up to 20lbs\nDue to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process.
