In Savannah we will continue to drive consistency and demand within several of POET’s key markets for POET Dried Distillers Grain and POET Corn Fermented Protein animal feed. Our customers have already come to expect nothing less than the best in food safety and quality from POET, and we will continue to deliver as a trusted partner.\nSchedule: Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional weekend and holiday work required (includes overtime, holiday pay + double time pay)\nThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient repair of equipment, preventative maintenance, and fabrication of projects associated with terminal operations.\nThis is an on-site role located in Savannah, GA. Responsibilities include:\nInstall, troubleshoot, and repair various electrical components and systems.\nInspect electrical components and complete preventative maintenance.\nEnsure electrical equipment and wiring conform to code.\nPerform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade team members.\nInstall, repair, and maintain terminal machinery and equipment according to construction plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishments.\nUse hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools on a variety of projects.\nDismantle and repair various machinery.\nIdentify hand tools, fasteners, and other equipment used in the trade and distinguish their applications.\nMove machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.\nAlign machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.\nAssemble or fasten machines, bolts, welds, and rivets to foundations or other structures.\nFoster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.\nMaintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET’s products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.\nSince we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!\nQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\n3 years of previous electrical experience required.\n3 - 5 years of previous maintenance experience required.\nYou have basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the millwright field.\nExperience with MIG and stick welding tools preferred.\nAbility to plan work, solve problems and make decisions based on quantifiable information.\nYou are a self-driven, energetic and a team player.\nExcellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change.\nYou know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite. During employment, you’ll be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.\nThis role has physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:Occasionally lifting weights up to sixty (60) pounds.\nClimbing several flights of stairs and ladders.\nOccasional bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weights of less than fifty (50) pounds.\nData entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.\nWalking up to two (2) or more miles per day.\nPushing brooms, shovels, etc.\nWorking at heights, in confined spaces, and at temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees.\nStanding for extended periods of time.\nWearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\n\nThis position is largely self-directed and requires a thorough understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments. The team member may be exposed to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and chemicals.\nThe work environment at POET is dynamic.
