We're hiring a Product Reliability Engineer to own the health, stability, and observability of our systems end-to-end.\nThe Role\nYou are the connective tissue between our customers and our product. You’re a product engineer focused on a key dimension of the user experience: reliability. When reliability is threatened, you'll work directly with customers to understand impact, stop the bleeding, create a robust fix, and then close the loop.\nHowever, this role isn't only reactive. The best PREs use front-line signals to make the whole system more resilient: better observability, fewer recurring failures, and proactive investments that get ahead of problems before customers feel them.\nThis is a hands-on, full-stack engineering role at the intersection of product, infrastructure, and customer impact.\nWhat You'll Own\nReliability & Incident Response\nRespond quickly to automated alerts and customer-reported issues\n\nTriage, diagnose, and resolve production incidents with a bias toward permanent fixes over workarounds\n\nBuild and maintain incident response playbooks and postmortem processes\n\nCoordinate cross-functionally with customer success managers and key account stakeholders to maintain customer trust in the event of an incident\n\nObservability & Prevention\nDesign and instrument telemetry, logging, and alerting across our serverless AWS stack\n\nBuild dashboards and health metrics that surface issues before customers feel them\n\nIdentify recurring failure patterns and drive systemic fixes into the codebase\n\nReduce operational toil through automation\n\nProduct Stability\nContribute directly to the codebase-improving resilience, reducing tech debt, and creating automation to ensure bugs are resolved quickly and with little human intervention\n\nPartner with engineers on new feature launches to assess reliability risks before they ship\n\nMake data-driven recommendations on where to invest in stability\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n2+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent in reliability, platform, or production-facing roles\n\nStrong debugging instincts and comfort tracing failures across distributed systems using logs, traces, and metrics\n\nHands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS, RDS, CloudWatch or equivalent)\n\nComfortable reading and writing Go, TypeScript, or similar backend languages\n\nExperience building or improving observability infrastructure (alerting, dashboards, telemetry)\n\nHigh ownership mentality: you close the loop, you write the postmortem, you ship the fix\n\nStrong plus: experience in legaltech, fintech, healthtech, or other high-sensitivity, always-on environments.\nWhy This Role Matters\nLaw firms and government agencies run on PointOne. Downtime isn't just an engineering inconvenience, it disrupts attorneys working on active matters, delays billing cycles, and erodes the trust institutions place in us to handle their most sensitive data.\nThis role exists to minimize the probability of reliability issues-and when they occur, to make sure they never repeat.\nThis is intense work in a startup that is doubling every three months. You will be expected to take ownership, bring structure to ambiguity, and play a key role in forming the company's engineering culture.\nThe compensation for this position is determined by multiple factors, including prior experience and expertise.
