This individual should possess technical experience in the design, development and familiarity with customers such: PW, GE and Sikorsky. This candidate should be capable of proposing new technology and/or program directions in support of business unit objectives. Knowledge and extensive experience with Engineering Source Approval a must.\nResponsibilities:\nThe Manufacturing Engineer will optimize and document all aspects of manufacturing processes by identifying improvement opportunities and applying simpler, faster, cost-effective and reliable methods.\nEvaluate new and existing processes to ensure quality and safety of the job.\nCreate and maintain detailed manufacturing and process instructions for complex parts and processes.\nCreate and maintain travelers and work instructions for new parts and assemblies as well as modifications to existing products.\nExpertise in Blueprints.\nAttention to details, strong work ethic and positive attitude.\nGood communication and self-discipline.\nIdentify new equipment, tool designs, and processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and cycle times.\nDesign tooling, fixtures and jigs to improve manufacturing.\nGood manufacturing knowledge of raw material control, manufacturing process, laboratory testing, heat treating and other processes.\nResponsible for the delivery of tool kits direct to the machining centers.\nChampion in using Process Controls to measure capability, reduce variability, and overall improve the quality of the product.\nDrive and support Lean Manufacturing techniques in the shop including process mapping, set-up time reduction, and overall waste reduction.\nEffectively use all process improvement strategies and techniques including Lean and Six Sigma to minimize waste and maximize economies.\nManages customer owned tooling and tooling manifests\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQualifications: An ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering.\nBackground of science, technology, engineering and mathematics\nMust have excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation.\nFamiliarity with the latest technologies and equipment used in manufacturing processes.\nMinimum 5-8 years of experience using: NX, Unigraphics and SolidWorks Software, Mastercam.\nKnowledge of raw materials\nKnowledge of mathematics: algebra, geometry, calculus and geometry\nTeam leading ability\nGood problem-solving skills\nAbility to manage one’s time and time of the team\nAbility to detect problems\nWork Environment:While performing duties for this job, it’s required to alternate between standing and sitting.
