Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.\nAbout\nAs a Digital Product Design Intern, you will support the design and development of digital experiences across Polaris products. This includes in-vehicle displays, companion mobile applications, and web experiences. You will work closely with product designers, engineers, researchers, and product owners. The role involves participation in user testing and rider research to help ensure our digital products are intuitive, usable, and built for real riders in real environments.\nThis internship is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in end-to-end digital product design, from early concepts and wireframes through testing, iteration, and handoff.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSupport the design of vehicle display interfaces, including infotainment, controls, and system UI.\nOpportunities to assist with design work for mobile apps and web experiences that complement vehicle systems.\nCreate wireframes, user flows, interaction concepts, and high-fidelity UI designs.\nHelp maintain and apply design systems, components, and UI standards.\nPrepare design assets, specs, and documentation for engineering handoff.\nParticipate and organize usability tests, user interviews, and rider testing research events.\nAssist with research synthesis, insights, and design recommendations.\nCollaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers in design reviews and critiques.\nIterate on designs based on feedback, testing results, and technical constraints.\nSupport general design tasks like: asset creation, file organization, and design updates.\nSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:\nCurrently pursuing a BS/BA in Digital Product Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, HCI, or a related field.\nFamiliarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.\nUnderstanding of UX principles, usability, and interaction design.\nStrong visual design sensibility with attention to detail.\nAbility to communicate ideas clearly through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes.\nInterest in user-centered design and research-driven decision making.\nComfortable working in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.\nExperience with user testing and feedback preferred.\nPowersports, automotive, or outdoor recreation interest is a plus, but not required.\nPORTFOLIO REQUIREMENT:\nA portfolio is required as part of the application.\nPortfolio may include school projects, personal projects, or internship work.\nShould demonstrate:\nUX and UI thinking, not just final visuals\nExamples of wireframes, user flows, interaction design, or prototypes\nAbility to explain design decisions and problem-solving approach\nCase studies do not need to be polished or production-ready, clarity of thinking matters more than perfection.\nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nTeam-based, collaborative, fast-paced office or studio environment.\nCombination of desk work and occasional participation in user or rider testing sessions.\nMay involve observing or participating in vehicle or field testing environments.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n18 years of age or older\nLegal authorization to work in the United States\nSuccessful completion of pre-employment background checks (if applicable)\nLocations could include: Medina, MN; Novi, MI. Must be open and willing to relocate.\nThe salary range for this position is $19.50 to $30.75 per hour. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.\nImportant Note: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Visa sponsorship will not be provided. To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.\nThe starting pay range for Minnesota is $19.50 to $30.75 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.
