In this role, you will own system development from concept through release, working across engineering, design, purchasing, manufacturing, suppliers, and external resources to deliver components that meet performance, quality, cost, timing, and reliability objectives. You will support design reviews, validation planning, test data analysis, field issue resolution, and competitive benchmarking to improve system performance and product execution. This is a compelling opportunity to influence key powertrain integration systems that contribute to vehicle performance, sound, and overall product experience.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead complete system integration of intake and exhaust systems into off-road vehicle products.\nOwn and manage intake and exhaust system development plans from concept through purchasing, manufacturing, validation, and production release.\nEnsure designs meet safety, quality, reliability, development schedule, cost, and performance goals.\nComplete design tasks in the Polaris Release System and support timely release of components and documentation.\nCreate and maintain component specifications, test procedures, design guidelines, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs.\nEnsure production drawings are accurate, properly dimensioned using GD&T, and aligned to key product characteristics.\nOrganize and lead design reviews with engineering and functional teams to ensure appropriate input and alignment.\nDetermine component manufacturing methods that support design, performance, quality, and cost objectives.\nCollaborate with designers, engineers, suppliers, and external resources to develop and refine system solutions.\nPrepare sketches, layouts, presentations, and technical materials to support resolution of engineering problems.\nQuantify intake and exhaust system performance through data acquisition, test data analysis, and development evaluation.\nAnalyze field issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.\nDesired Competencies:\nTechnical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.\nProblem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.\nCollaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related field.\nMinimum of 5 years of design and development experience.\nUnderstanding and experience with intake and/or exhaust system design.\nProduct development experience with vehicle mechanical systems or engines is preferred.\nProficiency with Creo as a primary CAD software.\nExperience creating or supporting GD&T drawings, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, component specifications, and test procedures.\nExperience using CAE tools to optimize designs is preferred.\nLab testing and data acquisition experience is preferred.\nExperience riding off-road products, motorcycles, or other recreational vehicles is preferred.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.\nAbility to operate off-road vehicles, including ATVs and side-by-sides, for development and performance evaluation.\nTravel as needed, up to 10%.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nThe starting pay range for Minnesota is $98,000 to $129,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
