The role combines hands-on development, system design, and collaboration, while also contributing to a strong engineering culture through mentoring and knowledge-sharing.\nYou will write clean, well-tested code and contribute to building systems that are robust, scalable, and maintainable. At the same time, you will stay up to date with modern development practices and emerging technologies, including evolving paradigms such as agentic AI.\nWhat you'll do\nYou will design, build, and evolve scalable digital solutions that power Polestar’s global platform.\nYour responsibilities include:\nDesigning and implementing high-performance, globally scalable systems\n\nTaking ownership of system architecture and contributing to technical decision-making\n\nWriting clean, maintainable code supported by unit, integration, and automated tests\n\nCollaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Operations teams to deliver business value\n\nMentoring team members and contributing to a culture of knowledge-sharing\n\nEnsuring solutions follow modern engineering practices across quality, performance, and maintainability\n\nIn your daily work, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional agile teams including engineering, product, design, and operations, contributing to a shared understanding of system design, user impact, and business priorities.\nWho you are\nYou are an experienced software developer with a strong engineering foundation and a passion for building scalable, high-quality systems. You are comfortable taking ownership of technical challenges, making decisions, and collaborating across teams to deliver impactful solutions.\nYou combine strong technical skills with a product mindset, understanding not only how to build solutions but also why they matter. You enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting others, and continuously improving both code and ways of working.\nTo be a great fit for this position, we believe you have:\nStrong knowledge of programming and software engineering principles\n\nExperience designing scalable systems using .NET (C#), AWS, and Node.js (TypeScript)\n\nDemonstrated ability to write effective unit tests, integration tests, and other automated tests\n\nSolid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization\n\nProficiency with version control systems such as Git and GitHub workflows\n\n4-8 years of professional software development experience\n\nExperience building global, high-performance, and scalable solutions\n\nExperience working in cross-functional agile teams\n\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to process and analyze complex information\n\nFluency in English, both written and spoken\n\nIt is considered an advantage if you also have:\nExperience working in the financial domain\n\nInterest in emerging technologies, including agentic AI, and how they impact software development\n\nPeople at Polestar\nWe know that a change is needed.
