Leveraging proprietary technology and smart data, we offer reliable products and a wow customer experience.\nHaving achieved rapid growth since being founded in 2011, we’ve won over 1.5 million customers in Home, Motor and Pet insurance and have been ranked the UK’s No.1-rated home insurer by Review Centre since 2013.\nKey responsibilities\nOwn workstreams such as a model build, an optimisation cycle, a line’s trading or portfolio plan, or an implementation programme, and lead complex work such as pricing a new product or brand, a major model or algorithm change, or a regulatory change.\nFrame loosely defined or ambiguous problems, split the work into tasks others could deliver, challenge briefs that won’t answer the question, and propose work that should be done.\nLead model builds and refreshes end to end, choosing and justifying the method through validation and sign-off, and introduce better techniques where the extra complexity pays off.\nTurn analysis into commercial recommendations that quantify the trade-offs between volume, profit, customer outcomes and regulation, linked to line and Group strategy.\nOwn pricing changes from design to live, including high-risk changes; design test plans and review others’ testing and code before sign-off.\nMonitor the performance of models and pricing, diagnose drift and recommend updates.\nSet and raise standards for coding, modelling, testing and quality, and improve review and control processes.\nPrepare and present governance and committee material to Heads and senior forums, and support analysis for reinsurers, regulators and partners.\nMentor, review and coach analysts, and lead project teams or work involving several analysts.\nDeputise for Manager or Technical Lead when needed.\nMakes day-to-day decisions within the workstream’s agreed scope and sets the approach with manager input.\nRecommends pricing changes to the manager or Head for sign-off; implements them within agreed guidelines and thresholds.\nReviews and signs off others’ work where delegated and may set priorities for a sub-group of work.\nSkills, knowledge and experience\nEssential\nDegree in a numerate subject, or equivalent experience\nTypically 4+ years in insurance pricing or a closely related analytical role\nStrong SQL and Python; writes reusable, reviewable code\nStrong modelling skills (e.g. GLMs, GBMs, demand or elasticity models, optimisation, forecasting)\nExperience of taking pricing changes live through a rating tool, with testing and governance\nGood working knowledge of UK pricing regulation (GIPP, Consumer Duty, fair value)\nEvidence of reviewing others’ work and an appetite to mentor\nStrong stakeholder communication, including presenting to senior and non-technical audiences\nDesirable\nDepth in one technical area (e.g. risk modelling, demand and optimisation, forecasting, implementation) with breadth across the others\nExperience across more than one product (e.g. Motor, Home, Pet)\nCloud tools (e.g. GCP)\nProgress towards, or completion of, professional exams (IFoA or CII)\nBenefits:\nThis role will be based in our London office in a 50/50 Hybrid mode.\nWe match your pension contributions up to 7%\nPrivate medical & Dental cover\nLearning budget of £1,000 a year + Study leave (with encouragement to use it)\nEnhanced maternity & paternity\nTravel season ticket loan\nAccess to a wide selection of London O2 events and use of a Private Lounge\nEmployee Wellbeing Programme\nWhat We Stand for and Next Steps “We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer.
