Together, they identify problems, talk to customers, define solutions, prioritize opportunities, and ship improvements.\nAs a Product Designer, you won't simply receive tickets asking you to design a screen. You'll be expected to understand our customers, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and help decide what we should build-and what we shouldn't.\nYou'll own the design process from discovery through implementation, working closely with engineers to turn complex operational challenges into intuitive, thoughtful, and delightful experiences.\nThis is a hands-on role with real ownership, high autonomy, and direct impact on thousands of people using our products every day.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn Product Problems, Not Just Designs\nWork directly with customers, restaurant operators, and internal teams to understand their workflows, frustrations, and needs.\nIdentify product opportunities, define problems, and help prioritize what we build.\nChallenge feature requests and dig deeper to understand the underlying customer problem.\nCollaborate with Product Engineers to define product requirements, scope solutions, and make tradeoffs.\nThink critically about business impact, technical feasibility, and user experience when making decisions.\nFollow your work beyond launch, learning from customer feedback and product usage to continuously improve the experience.\nDesign Exceptional Product Experiences\nOwn the end-to-end design process, from early exploration and user flows to polished interfaces and shipped features.\nSimplify complex workflows into intuitive experiences that feel effortless to use.\nDesign across multiple platforms, including web applications, tablets, handheld devices, and payment terminals.\nCreate wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to explore and communicate solutions.\nBuild, maintain, and evolve our design system to ensure consistency and quality across products.\nPay close attention to interaction design, usability, visual hierarchy, and the small details that make a product exceptional.\nWork closely with engineers throughout implementation to ensure the final experience meets a high standard of quality.\nHelp Drive Product Strategy\nContribute to product direction and prioritization alongside Product Engineers and company leadership.\nBalance short-term customer needs with long-term product simplicity and scalability.\nUse qualitative feedback and quantitative data to inform product decisions.\nMake pragmatic decisions about when to invest in a polished solution and when to validate an idea quickly.\nAdvocate for the customer while understanding the realities of building and operating a fast-growing business.\nWhat We're Looking For\nYou're a strong fit if:\nYou have demonstrated experience designing and shipping real software products, ideally complex B2B or operational software.\nYou have excellent product intuition and can explain not only how you designed something, but why it needed to exist.\nYou're comfortable navigating ambiguity and turning loosely defined problems into concrete solutions.\nYou have strong UX, interaction design, and visual design skills.\nYou know how to conduct customer interviews, validate assumptions, and translate insights into product decisions.\nYou think in systems and understand how individual features connect to broader workflows.\nYou can balance speed and quality, knowing when to iterate quickly and when details matter.\nYou're proficient in Figma and comfortable collaborating closely with engineers.\nYou communicate clearly, welcome feedback, and can defend your decisions without being attached to your initial ideas.\nYou take initiative, have strong opinions backed by reasoning, and are comfortable being accountable for outcomes.\nYou're excited about spending time with real customers and seeing your designs used in real-world environments.\nBonus Points\nExperience working as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or founder.\nExperience at an early-stage startup with significant product ownership.\nExperience designing POS, fintech, payments, commerce, or restaurant-management software.\nExperience designing native Android applications or interfaces for dedicated hardware.\nAbility to prototype with code or use AI-powered development tools to rapidly explore and validate ideas.\nExperience designing products used in high-pressure, time-sensitive operational environments.\nHow We Work\nWe don't believe great products come from assembly lines.\nAt Polo, product development is a collaborative process where designers and engineers work together from the very beginning.\nWe believe that:\nEveryone on the product team owns the product.
