Must be flexible to work off shifts if the need arises. This position directly reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and does not supervise others.\nKey Accountabilities\nPerform preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, and troubleshooting of production & development equipment. \nFollow department guidelines and Standard Operating Procedure work instruction for equipment repair of plastic film processing equipment, specifically extrusion line cleanings, preventative Maintenance & other equipment maintenance\nProperly complete and submit all paperwork associated with equipment maintenance and safety protocols\nPerform minor modifications to equipment to eliminate the root cause of the mechanical problems.\nDiagnose equipment issues & assist in the diagnosis of process related problems through collaborative teamwork with Engineering & Operations staff\nPerform minor fabrication and machine work, i.e. welding, milling machine, lathe, and drill press\nSupport new equipment installations\nTrain other maintenance personnel on mechanical systems and personal areas of expertise\nWork collaboratively with all maintenance and manufacturing personnel; lead and participate in cross-functional teams\nFollow all Celgard safety guidelines and procedures, plan safety into projects and tasks\nMust be able to work at heights up to 30 feet, lift and carry up to 30 lbs., climb ladders, bend and twist in order to reach remote equipment\nOperate equipment such as forklifts, portable hoist, cherry picker, one man lift, etc.\nUse computer to update mechanical procedures\nFlexibility to carry a pager/cell phone for coverage and site wide communication. Also willing to work a night shift schedule.\nQualifications\nEducation Background:\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required\nAssociate’s degree or diploma in Mechanical technology preferred\nKnowledge & Experience:\n1+ years' experience in an industrial environment performing mechanical maintenance required, 2-3 years of experience preferred\nFormal industrial maintenance training required\nMechanical troubleshooting experience required\nAbility to troubleshoot, maintain typical mechanical drive systems (brakes, clutches, couplings, bearings, belts, chains, gears, sprockets, etc.)\nTroubleshooting pneumatic systems is required.\nStrength in one or more of the following is highly preferred: Welding, Machine Shop, Optical Alignment, and proper Rigging Techniques.\nKnowledge of small centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, piping layouts, and polymer extrusion, preferred\nExperience with predictive techniques such as infrared and ultrasonic are preferred\nProficiency with computers and computer applications (MS Office, Word, Excel)\nKey Attributes:\nAble to troubleshoot, maintain typical mechanical drive systems (brakes, clutches, couplings, bearings, belts, chains, gears, sprockets, etc.) \nTroubleshooting pneumatic systems is required.\nLubrication Practices \nAble to perform precision alignments and installations. \nExperience and knowledge of electrical systems a plus\nExperience troubleshooting and doing PMs\neMaintenance system\n Must obtain PIV license\nTravel\nMust be able and willing to travel up to 10% domestically for training and visiting other company locations.\nAsahi Kasei and Celgard Values\nSincerity - Being sincere with everyone\nChallenge - Bolding taking challenges, continually seeking change\nCreativity - Creating new value through unity and synergy\nWorking Environment\nThis position is in a manufacturing plant setting that would require working in a production environment around chemicals.
