This role is expected to take ownership of assigned features and components, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and support the long-term health and stability of production systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nSoftware Development & Maintenance\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy software enhancements and new features.\nMaintain and improve existing applications and services.\nTroubleshoot and resolve software defects and production issues.\nParticipate in technical design discussions and implementation planning.\nDeliver maintainable, scalable, and testable code aligned with engineering standards.\nProduct & System Ownership\nTake ownership of assigned features and components from development through deployment and production support.\nSupport production systems and participate in operational activities.\nMonitor application performance and reliability.\nPartner with DevOps and platform teams to address operational concerns.\nContribute to keeping applications secure, stable, and well documented.\nCode Quality & Best Practices\nWrite and maintain automated tests.\nParticipate in peer code reviews.\nFollow established coding standards and engineering practices.\nContribute to technical debt reduction and system improvements.\nDocumentation & Collaboration\nMaintain technical documentation and operational procedures.\nCollaborate with Product, Engineering, Support, and Operations teams.\nShare knowledge and contribute to team learning initiatives.\nParticipate in agile ceremonies, planning, and retrospectives.\nAI-Enabled Engineering\nUse AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day engineering activities, including understanding existing code, debugging problems, testing, documentation, and prototyping solutions.\nDemonstrate familiarity with AI coding assistants and effective prompting, with an openness to adopting AI-enabled development practices.\nApply appropriate engineering judgement when reviewing AI-generated output to ensure code meets quality, security, and maintainability standards.\nEducation / Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n4-5 years of professional software development experience building and maintaining production applications.\nStrong hands-on experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and React, including modern frontend and/or backend web development and HTML/CSS.\nExperience with Docker and a working understanding of networking concepts.\nStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with cloud platforms, containerised and distributed systems, including serverless technologies such as Azure Functions or equivalent.\nFamiliarity withevent-driven architectures, messaging and asynchronous processing, such as Service Bus or equivalent.\nFamiliarity with NoSQL and caching technologies, such as MongoDB and Redis.\nExperience with CI/CD, application security and modern software delivery practices.\nUnderstanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.\nExposure to Kubernetes and modern UI/design systems such as Material UI/MUI.\nExperience with Docker and a working understanding of networking concepts.\nExposure to PHP/AngularJS for existing platform components; Java or C# is a plus\nWho We Are\nWe are a values-driven organisation that encourages our employees to bring their authentic selves to work every day and empowers everyone to make a tangible impact on our products, clients, and culture.
