It contributes to the daily operations of the Insurance Accounting group, including monitoring accounting interfaces and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. This role requires attention to detail and effective collaboration across multiple teams.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nAnalyze accounting transactions for the Insurance business entities: Popular Insurance, Popular Risk Services, Popular Life Re, and Popular Re.\nPrepare and record daily and month-end journal entries, including accruals, intercompany transactions, and cash-related entries, in the General Ledger (S/4HANA).\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of internal accounting procedures, in accordance with organizational requirements.\nAssist in preparing variance explanations for income statement and balance sheet accounts.\nAssist with the annual budget process and forecast revisions.\nInvestigate unusual transactions and account discrepancies, and prepare or recommend reclassifications, adjustments, or corrections as needed.\nProvide documentation and accounting support for internal and external audits and other risk or compliance requirements.\nAssist with the quarterly accrual certification process.\nPrepare quarterly and annual journal entries to support statutory financial reporting.\nCoordinate and document the unit’s annual inventory process.\nParticipate in special projects and other accounting initiatives, as needed\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Accounting\nExperience\nMinimum of one year of experience performing general accounting or full-cycle accounting activities.\nOther Qualifications\nWorking knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting.\nExcellent attention to detail.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to evaluate financial information.\nAbility to organize, prioritize, and follow up on multiple tasks.\nAbility to adapt to change, manage new situations, and work effectively under pressure.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and validate accounting data.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others.\nFully bilingual (English and Spanish), both oral and written, preferred.\nValues\n1.
