Accounts Receivable Executive

PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE, is currently seeking applications for the position of Accounts Receivable Administrator in San Sebastián, Spain on a full-time permanent basis, reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will join Portwest's Accounts Receivable team and be responsible for supporting collections, cash allocation, account reconciliations, and customer account management across multiple markets, with a strong focus on French-speaking customers and customer groups.

The role requires a proactive and highly organized individual who is comfortable communicating directly with customers, internal stakeholders, Area Sales Managers, and Market Managers to resolve payment queries and ensure timely cash collection.

This is a full-time onsite position based in San Sebastián, Spain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enter daily cash receipts across multiple banks
• Manually allocate cash and follow up on any unallocated payments
• Perform cash book reconciliations
• Record and allocate customer rebates 
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve payment issues promptly
• Generate aged debtors reports to provide insights into AR status and performance
• Liaise with internal staff as necessary to ensure accurate financial records
• Provide backup support to the credit control team
• Carry out ad hoc duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong customer-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Apps & Services
• Degree in Business Studies/Accounting, or an Accounting Technician qualification
• Minimum 1 year of general accounts experience
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Must be available to work onsite from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday (38 hours per week)
• Fluent French and English, both written and spoken
