We’re on a mission to become the world’s most requested PPE and Safety Wear Brand.\nJOB SUMMARY:\nWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HP Aruba networking equipment, SonicWall firewalls, VLAN configuration, Cat 6 cabling, and network design and topology. This role will be critical in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organisational functions.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nNetwork Design and Implementation:\n· Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure to support business requirements.\n· Configure and maintain HP Aruba switches, access points, and controllers.\n· Develop and document network diagrams and topologies.\nFirewall Management:\n· Configure, manage, and troubleshoot SonicWall firewalls.\n· Implement and manage firewall rules, VPNs, and security policies to ensure network security.\nVLAN Configuration and Management:\n· Design and implement VLANs to segment network traffic and improve performance.\n· Ensure proper VLAN tagging and manage inter-VLAN routing.\nCabling and Physical Network Maintenance:\n· Cat 6 cabling infrastructure.\n· Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and documentation.\nNetwork Monitoring and Troubleshooting:\n· Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.\n· Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, providing timely support to minimise downtime.\nSecurity and Compliance:\n· Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect against unauthorised access, data breaches, and other security threats.\n· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.\nDocumentation and Reporting:\n· Maintain accurate network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and procedures.\n· Provide regular reports on network performance, incidents, and changes.\nREQUIREMENTS: \n· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n· 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.\nTechnical Skills:\n· Proficiency with HP Aruba networking equipment (switches, access points, controllers).\n· Strong experience with SonicWall firewalls (configuration, management, and troubleshooting).\n· Expertise in VLAN configuration and management.\n· Knowledge of Cat 6 cabling standards and best practices.\n· Experience in network design and topology planning.\nCertifications (Preferred but not required):\n· Aruba Certified\n· SonicWall Network Security Administrator (SNSA) or higher.\n· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.\n\nCOMPANY AWARDS\nGreat Place To Work 2024 \nPrivate Irish Business of the year - Export IndustryAwards 2025\nGold Ecovadis Sustainability Rating 2026\nApplicants must have a right to live and work in the relevant jurisdiction.\nPortwest is an equal opportunity employer.
