We’re on a mission to become the world’s most requested PPE and Safety Wear Brand.\nJOB SUMMARY:\nAs an IT Support Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to our organization. Your responsibilities will include assisting users with IT-related issues, managing small projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n1st and 2nd Level User Support:\nProvide prompt and effective technical assistance to end-users.\nTroubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.\nResolve incidents related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.\nNetworks and VLANs:\nExperience working on Firewalls.\nUnderstand and configure switches and VLANs\nTroubleshoot network connectivity issues.\nIT Helpdesk Environment\nWork closely with end-users to address their technical needs.\nLog and track support requests.\nMaintain excellent customer service\nProject Management\nAssist in managing and delivering small IT systems projects.\nCollaborate with team members to achieve project goals.\nServer Maintenance:\nPerform periodic maintenance tasks\nApply updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.\nRegularly back up and ensure system recovery procedures are in place\nREQUIREMENTS:\nMinimum of 2 years' experience in an IT Support, Service Desk or similar technical role, or equivalent practical experience.\nGood working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications and SharePoint.\nExperience with Microsoft Entra ID, user account management and access permissions.\nBasic understanding of networking, hardware, software and IT security principles.\nFamiliarity with Windows Server environments and virtualisation technologies would be advantageous.\nExperience using IT ticketing systems to manage and resolve support requests.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.\nExcellent communication and customer service skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.\nOrganised, adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.\nRelevant IT certifications are desirable but not essential.\n\nCOMPANY AWARDS\nGreat Place To Work 2024 \nPrivate Irish Business of the year - Export IndustryAwards 2025\nGold Ecovadis Sustainability Rating 2026\nApplicants must have a right to live and work in the relevant jurisdiction.\nPortwest is an equal opportunity employer.
