In just 6 years, Posh has grown to a team of 70, expanded to 10M+ users, secured $70m in venture funding, and facilitated over $400M in transactions.\nAbout the Role\nWe’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help design, build, and scale Posh’s cloud infrastructure as our platform grows to support millions of users every month. You’ll work closely with product engineers, data, and security teams to ensure that our systems are reliable, performant, and easy to operate.\nThis role combines hands-on DevOps expertise with a software engineering mindset - building automation, observability, and developer tooling that accelerates our entire organization.\nThis is an in-person role at our New York City office in SoHo, 5 days a week onsite.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign and evolve infrastructure: Architect resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure using cloud-native tools (AWS preferred).\n\nAutomate everything: Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code systems (e.g., Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker) to make deployment seamless and consistent.\n\nMonitor and improve reliability: Implement alerting, logging, and tracing systems that empower teams to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally: Partner with the Platform PM and engineers across backend, frontend, and data to set infrastructure priorities based on growth, product plans, and operational needs-and improve how services are built, tested, deployed, and operated.\n\nHarden cloud security: Contribute to IAM design, least-privilege access, and posture management across environments.\n\nDrive operational excellence: Identify bottlenecks and reliability risks, and build solutions that scale with Posh’s growth.\n\nMentor and elevate: Coach engineers on best practices for infrastructure design, cloud efficiency, and secure deployment.\n\nIdentify and remove scaling bottlenecks: Investigate performance and cost across cloud infrastructure, databases, data warehouses, queues, and application access patterns. Use production telemetry, profiling, and load testing to identify constraints and prioritize improvements.\n\nWhat You Bring\n5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure, DevOps, or Backend Engineer.\n\nExtensive experience with Terraform and reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns\n\nDeep knowledge of AWS services (ECS/EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation).\n\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/K8s), and orchestration systems (ECS, EKS, or equivalent).\n\nProficiency in JavaScript or Python, and familiarity with scripting for automation.\n\nStrong grasp of cloud security principles, identity and access management, and cost optimization.\n\nSolid understanding of networking fundamentals, observability, and system reliability.\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills; able to partner with diverse engineering teams.\n\nA passion for automation, scalability, and improving developer velocity.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with multi-region or distributed cloud systems.\n\nExposure to compliance and security tooling for cloud posture management.\n\nContributions to open-source infrastructure tools.\n\nBackground in mentoring engineers or leading reliability initiatives.\n\nPosh provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.\nThis policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.\nPosh is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities in our job application procedures.
