That's why we're looking for an experienced, commercially minded and people-focused Group HR Manager to join our management team, based at Potters Resorts Five Lakes.\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a senior HR professional who enjoys working operationally, building strong relationships and making a real impact. Reporting to the Group HR Director, with day-to-day accountability to the Five Lakes Resort General Manager, you'll take primary responsibility for HR support at Five Lakes while also providing Group-wide support across both our Five Lakes and Hopton-on-Sea Resorts as required.\nIf you're a highly capable HR generalist with strong employee relations experience, excellent systems capability and the confidence to operate within a fast-paced hospitality business, we'd love to hear from you.\n The Role\nAs Group HR Manager, you'll provide hands-on HR leadership at Five Lakes, supporting managers and Team Members through every stage of the employee lifecycle. Alongside your core Five Lakes responsibilities, you'll work closely with the Group HR Director and provide HR and employee relations support across both Resorts when required, including supporting formal processes and deputising for the Group HR Director during periods of absence.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide expert HR advice and guidance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, wellbeing, engagement, reward and recognition, and organisational development.\n\nPartner with the Resort Management Team to deliver people-focused solutions that support operational excellence.\n\nLead and support complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes, and provide ER support across both Resorts as required.\n\nDevelop trusted relationships with managers, coaching and supporting them to build confident leadership capability.\n\nLead the Resort's recruitment and onboarding activity, ensuring we continue to attract and retain exceptional talent.\n\nChampion Team Member engagement through initiatives including job chats, feedback and wellbeing activities.\n\nSupport the implementation of Group HR initiatives, ensuring policies, procedures and best practice are embedded across the Resort.\n\nDrive diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, helping to create an environment where everyone feels valued and able to succeed.\n\nSupport reward, recognition and Team Member benefits, in conjunction with the Group HR Director, ensuring these remain competitive and aligned to business needs.\n\nManage, coach and develop the Resort HR Administrator and the Resort Recruitment Coordinator\n\nAnalyse people data and HR metrics to identify trends, inform decision-making and support continuous improvement.\n\nWork closely with the Group HR Director on wider people projects and employee relations matters across the business, including supporting investigatory, disciplinary, grievance, capability and other formal processes at either Resort where required.\n\nDeputise for the Group HR Director during periods of annual leave or other absence, acting as a senior point of HR support and providing guidance on urgent or significant people matters across either Resort as needed.\n\nAbout You\nYou'll be an experienced senior HR professional with a broad generalist background and strong practical employee relations expertise. You'll have the confidence and judgement to manage complex matters independently, support senior operational leaders and step across both Resorts when the needs of the business require it.\nWith a broad generalist HR background, you'll thrive on building trusted relationships and supporting people to be at their best. You'll be practical, approachable and commercially aware, with the confidence to provide sound advice, challenge constructively where needed, and work collaboratively to find positive solutions for both our Team Members and the business.\nHours\nThis is a full-time position based primarily at Potters Resorts Five Lakes, Maldon, Essex, with travel to our Hopton-on-Sea Resort in Norfolk as and when required to support the needs of the business.\nThe role is primarily Monday to Friday; however, as an operational Resort business, flexibility is required, including occasional evenings and weekends when necessary.\nThe Group HR Manager will also deputise for the Group HR Director during periods of annual leave or other absence, providing HR support at either Resort where required.\n Essential Skills & Experience\nCIPD qualified to Level 7.\n\nSignificant experience in an HR Manager, HR Business Partner or equivalent senior generalist HR role, with a broad and well-rounded HR generalist background.\n\nStrong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.\n\nStrong, demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations matters, including investigations and formal disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence processes.\n\nExcellent coaching, influencing and relationship-building skills.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nHighly organised, with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a busy operational environment.\n\nFully proficient in the day-to-day use of HR software platforms, with strong practical systems knowledge and confidence using HR technology, workforce management systems and people data.
