They perform visual, mechanical and electrical inspections, tests, and audits to identify any defects or deviations from quality requirements. Quality Inspectors use various tools and techniques to measure and evaluate the quality of materials, components, and finished products. They document and report any non-conformities and work closely with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Additionally, they may participate in the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures.\nEssential Responsibilities\nPerform visual, mechanical and electrical inspections, and testing of all equipment manufactured at Powell facilities according to Powell Standards.\nProgram and operate electronic equipment such as microprocessor-based relays.\nEnergize Powell electrical products and other buyout equipment such as service Panels, HVAC, Battery Chargers, UPS System, etc.\nPerform equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis.\nComplete and maintain all test Quality Control documentation as required.\nPerform maintenance on test equipment as needed.\nPerform tests using equipment such as multi meter, clamp-on-meter, voltage detector, Hi-Pot, etc.\nInteraction with all departments (shop, engineering, sales, shipping, fabrication, PCR, switchgear) including customers to work to resolve quality related issues.\nInteraction with all departments during production, final inspection and final release to shipping is required.\nExternal relationships may include regular interaction with other Powell subsidiaries, suppliers and customers.\nRecord Engineering and Shop discrepancies, non-conformities and material shortages utilizing Powell systems.\nParticipates in continuous improvement projects.\nPromote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.\nEnsure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.\nEnsure that work areas remain clean and well organized.\nLearn and understand basic electrical principals and relevant Mechanical experience\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or General Education Diploma, or a Trade School diploma or certificate\nMinimum 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.\nAbility to read prints including specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists and part drawings\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in Quality inspection for electrical or electronic equipment or components preferred\nIntermediate experience working with industry codes and standards adherence to ISO requirements.\nMust be proficient in the English language, both written and verbal.\nWorking Conditions\nSafety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.\nRequired to always wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.\nWorking at a desk and computer in an office environment is required.\nMust be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, \"A\" frame ladders and all size extension ladders) and scaffolding.\nWorking at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air or using proper lift equipment.\nPhysical Requirements\nAble to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.\nBending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.\nContinuous standing, walking 50-300-foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.\nMust be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift.\nAble to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.\nUsing upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to
