The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, fitting, assembly, maintenance and repair of mechanical components and equipment through accurate machining and fitting practices. The role is responsible for ensuring plant and equipment reliability through adherence to quality, safety and maintenance standards.\nMain Responsibilities:\nMechanical Assembly, Machining and Repairs\nFit, align and assemble mechanical components, pumps, shafts, gearboxes and related equipment.\nManufacture, machine, refurbish and repair components using lathes, milling machines, drills and other workshop equipment.\nConduct preventative, scheduled and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.\nDismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble equipment to restore functionality and reliability.\nPerform fault-finding, identify defects and recommend corrective actions.\nAssist with equipment rebuilds, overhauls and maintenance shutdown activities.\nQuality Assurance and Documentation\nMeasure and inspect components using precision measuring instruments.\nVerify tolerances, alignments and fits against engineering drawings and specifications.\nComplete job cards, maintenance reports and workshop documentation accurately.\nMaintain records of materials used, parts replaced and maintenance activities performed.\nEnsure all work complies with required technical and quality standards.\nSafety, Health and Environmental Compliance\nComply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company procedures.\nApply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work systems where required.\nParticipate in toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety initiatives.\nIdentify and report hazards, unsafe conditions and incidents.\nEducation and Trade Qualification:\nGrade 12 or equivalent.\nRecognised Fitter and Turner Trade Test (Red Seal).\nExperience:\n3-5 years’ post-trade experience in mechanical maintenance, machining or plant workshop environments.\nExperience working with lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders and precision measuring instruments.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.\nAdded advantages:\n5-8 years’ experience in plant, construction, mining or heavy industrial workshop environments.\nAdditional training in advanced machining, hydraulics, pneumatics or maintenance management.\nExperience working with rotating equipment and complex mechanical systems.\nApplication Process\nThe following documents must accompany your application (attach under supporting documents):\nConcise CV containing demographic and employment information.\nCopy of your ID document.\nCopy of your driver's license (if applicable).\nCopy of your Grade 12 certificate.\nCopy of Trade Test certificate and relevant qualifications.\nWe are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
