As the Fire Alarm Systems Associate Designer, you’ll work out of our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, reviewing original layouts and drawings and interpreting them for the project’s requirements and code compliance.\nPosition Details / Responsibilities\nCoordinate the best design solution by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.\nProvide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.\nProvide design direction, support, and guidance to all team members.\nCommunicate effectively with customers, project team members, and inspecting authorities.\nHere’s What We’re Looking For\nThree (3) or more years of experience with fire alarm system design.\nExperience with fire alarm equipment and installation, as well as some fire alarm design fundamentals; bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction-related field preferred.\nA detail-oriented, quality driven designer with a NICET certification and an understanding of fire alarm design including high-density, high-rise, and smoke control.\nKnowledge of local codes and construction safety requirements (including IBC and IECC) required.\nA quick learner interested in design fundamentals for fire alarm systems with some AutoCAD/Revit experience and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.\nA team player who acts with customers in mind and thrives in a constantly changing and evolving environment.\nDemonstrate and uphold all of Power Design’s core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth.\nAt Power Design, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
