These positions requires full ownership of studies, model development, and project management, providing technical guidance and collaboration with team members. We are open to fully remote candidates in the United States or Canada, as well as candidates interested in working in a hybrid capacity from one of our PSE office locations.\nWhat You Will Be Doing:\nEmbrace, uphold, and live out PSE’s core values around People, Problem-Solving, and Progress.\nLead transmission planning and interconnection projects from start to finish.\nDevelop, validate, and maintain transmission system models for steady-state and dynamic studies.\nConduct comprehensive transmission analysis and studies independently, ensuring accurate, actionable results.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to team members throughout projects.\nManage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications.\nDeliver recommendations and solutions based on study outcomes.\nWhat You Will Need:\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university.\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in transmission planning, modeling, or interconnection studies.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.\nExperience with Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) processes and agreements.\nPreferred background includes transmission planning and interconnection project experience.\nDemonstrate proficiency in applying NERC reliability standards and IEEE technical guidelines to transmission studies and interconnection evaluations.\nKnowledge and Skills \nPSS®E and TSAT experience required.\nIn-depth knowledge of power system analysis, transmission planning, and grid interconnection processes.\nExpertise in PSS®E software for steady-state and dynamic system studies, with a strong proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., Python/IDEV) to streamline modeling, data analysis, and report generation.\nKnowledge of transmission protection concepts and industry-standard relaying practices (e.g., NERC PRC standards) as they relate to steady-state and dynamic system analysis.\nExperience with other industry tools is a plus, including PSCAD, PSLF, TARA, ASPEN, and AutoCAD.\nExperience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) and their integration into the electric grid.\nPossess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner.\nUse effective communication skills (both written and oral), be customer-driven, and display teamwork behavior.\nAdvanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.\nEligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship or eligible to work remotely from Canada.\nCompensation:\nSalary Range: $125,518 - $171,125 annually.\n\nThis salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for fiveto twenty years of relevant experience.
