Our Home is one of the fastest growing Better For You food brands in the country and this explosive growth requires great people with a passion for better-for-you snacks.\nOur Home is looking for a Shift Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd Shift to supervise and coordinate activities of up to 50 employees engaged in all phases of snack food plant operation. The role will also communicate operations schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure safety, production, and quality meets specifications. Regular schedule for this role is 2nd Shift (4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Mon-Thurs.)\nKey Responsibilities\nResponsible for coaching employees on all aspects of performing their duties in the safest manner possible for both personnel safety and food safety. \nSupports adherence to production and packaging schedules and distributes crewing. Works with other team members to reach budgeted line rates, prevent out of specification production, direct maintenance activities, manage raw material changes, and when necessary, uses the hold process to prevent out of specification product from reaching the customer.\nAccountable for team problem solving, decision making, fair and timely disciplinary action, and conflict resolution. Ensures progress reports are done in a timely manner. Facilitates the communication between shifts and teams. Work with Operators to ensure crew is properly trained and cross trained. \nActs as on-shift representative for all emergency response coordination, and compliance to Company policies (drug/alcohol, attendance, EEO, etc.). Responds to personnel issues as needed and conducts thorough investigations and coordinates results/issues. \nAssist in meeting customer requirements through communication, documentation, training of team members, and adherence to sanitation guidelines and GMP’s, including the HACCP program. Responsible, in part, for meeting requirements of various supplier certification programs and audits. Maintains plant cleanliness to satisfactory degree. \nImproves process by following lean manufacturing concepts, company values, and company culture. Strives to improve each work process. Support the identification of value added and cost savings activities and projects.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree and three plus years manufacturing related experience in a lead role, or five plus years in lieu of degree. \nShould have knowledge of database software; Excel spreadsheet software and word processing software.\nManufacturing and process knowledge\nSound judgement capabilities\nLean manufacturing knowledge and skills\nWorking knowledge of workplace safety and GMP regulations\nAbility to make sound business decisions\nKeen attention to detail\nWritten and spoken communication skills\nAbility to evaluate problems, correctly focus the resources and make efficient decisions\nStrong leadership and effective management skills to direct employees in efficient operations\nEffectively perform root cause analysis\nWork Environment/Physical Demands\nManufacturing Plant Environment\nMust move/lift up to 50 lbs.\nWarm/humid environment\nMust be able to work off shifts and be flexible with scheduling.\nFood and Workplace Safety Requirements\nProactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies. Regularly complete behavior-based safety observations. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner. All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF certification.
