The team collaborates closely with stakeholders across the company to support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.\nResponsibilities\nDescription\nThe Commercial Legal team manages the full lifecycle of PowerSchool’s commercial agreements, supporting transactions with customers, vendors, and partners while enabling the business to move efficiently and responsibly manage risk.\nThis role sits at the intersection of commercial contracting, data privacy, and business enablement. As a Senior Contracts Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting high-impact business relationships while helping strengthen PowerSchool’s approach to contracting, compliance, and risk management.\nYou will partner closely with legal, sales, procurement, and compliance teams to review and negotiate agreements, support contracting processes, and contribute to global privacy and regulatory initiatives. This is a highly collaborative and visible role that offers exposure to complex commercial transactions and evolving privacy considerations in a technology environment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nServe as a primary point of contact for commercial legal requests, triaging priorities and escalating complex issues as needed\nOwn the review, drafting, and negotiation of a high volume of commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with business goals while mitigating risk\nReview and edit sales and renewal quotes to ensure contractual and commercial consistency\nPartner cross-functionally with stakeholders in Sales, Procurement, Compliance, and Legal to resolve contractual and business issues efficiently\nPrepare clear, practical contractual responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs)\nIdentify risks and recommend commercially practical solutions in collaboration with attorneys and senior team members\nSupport contract lifecycle management processes, including maintaining templates, extracting key terms, and managing executed agreements within contract systems\nContribute to improvements in contracting workflows, templates, and processes to increase efficiency and scalability\nSupport privacy and regulatory compliance efforts by identifying and addressing data protection and information security considerations in agreements\nTake on additional responsibilities and projects that support the Legal team’s strategic objectives\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications\n3-5 years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements in a law firm or in-house legal environment\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience\nProven ability to independently manage a high volume of commercial contracts, including:Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and professional services agreements\nSaaS and software license agreements\nStatements of Work (SOWs)\nNon-disclosure agreements (NDAs)\nPartnership, procurement, and vendor agreements\nAt least one of the following privacy certifications: CIPT, CIPP (any jurisdiction), CIPM, or AIGP\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose practical solutions\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nExperience identifying basic privacy and information security issues in commercial agreements\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with technology contracting, particularly in SaaS or software environments\nWorking knowledge of data privacy laws and privacy-related agreements\nFamiliarity with intellectual property and technology licensing concepts\nExperience negotiating service level agreements (SLAs) or agreements involving emerging technologies such as AI\nExperience with contract lifecycle management tools and systems (e.g., Salesforce, CLM platforms, Jira, Fresh Service, Coupa)\nLaw or paralegal degree or certification\nWhat Success Looks Like\nYou effectively manage a high volume of agreements with strong attention to detail and sound judgment\nYou build trusted relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset\nYou balance speed and risk, helping the business move forward while ensuring compliance\nYou contribute to improving processes and tools that enhance team efficiency and scalability\nYou demonstrate increasing confidence in identifying and addressing privacy and compliance considerations\nWhy Join PowerSchool Legal\nThis is an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in commercial contracting while gaining meaningful exposure to data privacy, regulatory compliance, and global legal operations.
