The individual’s responsibility is to ensure all fabricated material manufactured at PowerSecure meet the predefined inspection criteria and are in conformance with design documents, customer specifications, and industry standards.\nMinimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):\n2+ years’ experience in roles related to quality assurance and/or fabrication required.\nRecognize and understand a wide variety of welding techniques.\nWeld, Paint, or Fabrication knowledge and experience is required.\nAbility to read and interpret documents mechanical drawings, Weld and Coating symbols, work instructions, and written directions.\nMust be capable of using computer software to enter information in database.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nExcellent proficiency of the English language (verbal communication, listening, written communication).\nOne or more of the following certifications is preferred: Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) Paint Inspector qualification, and/or Certified Quality Inspector (CQQI). However, these certifications are not required.\nDemonstrated competency with quality control processes, and a passion for right-the-first-time quality.\nPossess unquestionable Integrity (do the right thing…always, honesty, clear communications, adherence, and leadership on all aspects of financial and policy compliance.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nMaintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and complying with legal regulations.\nThoroughly understand the equipment, the standards, UL file requirements, and general manufacturing practices in steel and aluminum manufacturing, weld, or paint/powder coating.\nMaintain inspection equipment, ensure equipment is performing to standard.\nApproves finished products by confirming specifications, including proper dimension, joint strength, weld penetration, conformance with work-order specifications; responsible to identify defects like cracks, spatters, overlap and size.\nDiscuss inspection results with those responsible for products.\nDocument inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work; inputting data into database.\nIdentify and follow proper procedure for all non-conforming material. Assist in ensuring all non-conforming reports (NCR) are tracked and recorded.\nCommunication and cooperation with the engineering, manufacturing, and quality department to ensure quality compliance and continual product improvement.\nBasic Technician Proficiency Qualifications:\nLevel 1 Inspector - Minimum requirements /1 year of formal training such as a Diploma in Welding Technology from a community college or an apprenticeship in a welding related craft, 2+ years industry experience. Coating inspection and blast inspection training provided by supervisor.\nLevel 2 Inspector - Level 1 requirements completed, NACE Level 1 certified, completion of preparatory AWS CWI. +5 years industry experience.\nLevel 3 Inspector - Level 1 and Level 2 requirements completed, NACE Level 2 qualifications. AWS CWI. +7 years industry experience\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nLimited local travel will be required. Less than 10%.\nMust be able to work in confined spaces and to position oneself in various positions including low to the ground or high up on equipment.\nMust be able to lift 50lbs and manipulate heavy test equipment and cables.\nManual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers and PLC’s, protective relays, controllers, and other such equipment with small fine buttons and operators.\nTypical work environment will be conditioned space. Limited local travel may be required that will change the work environment.
