This position works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor while helping maintain safe, reliable, and audit-ready operations.\nMinimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; technical school coursework or trade training preferred.\nProfessional attitude with the ability to work effectively with maintenance, production, engineering, contractors, and leadership.\nBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to use the CMMS/work order system.\nProficient with common hand and power tools used in facility and equipment maintenance.\nBasic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, utility, and building systems.\nAbility to perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, basic troubleshooting, and corrective repairs under direction.\nAbility to follow plant rules, PPE requirements, Environmental, Health & Safety policies, and Lock out/Tag out procedures.\nAbility to assist with facility repairs, equipment moves, parts handling, and production support needs as directed.\nForklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification if required.\nDetail-oriented, organized, and able to complete assigned work safely, accurately, and on time.\nWillingness to complete e-learning, classroom training, and on-the-job training as assigned.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nResponds to assigned work requests, equipment concerns, facility needs, and maintenance support calls with urgency.\nCompletes assigned preventive maintenance, routine inspections, adjustments, basic repairs, and equipment checks.\nDocuments completed work, findings, parts used, and follow-up needs in the CMMS/work order system. \nInspects facility areas, utilities, equipment, and work areas; reports unsafe conditions, deficiencies, and reliability concerns.\nPerforms basic repairs to building systems, fixtures, lighting, plumbing, compressed air, water, drains, grounds, and related facility infrastructure.\nAssists Maintenance Tech II and Senior Maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting, disassembly, repair, parts replacement, testing, and return-to-service activities.\nSupports equipment moves, utility additions, parts handling, production layout changes, and setup activities as directed.\nUses tools, ladders, lifts, meters, and maintenance equipment safely and in accordance with department expectations.\nFollows Lock out/Tag out, PPE, housekeeping, lift, fall protection, and other safety requirements.\nEscalates equipment failures, repeat issues, parts shortages, and abnormal conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor or higher-level technicians.\nSupports vendors and contractors by helping provide access, escorting as directed, and reporting work progress or concerns.\nMaintains maintenance work areas, tools, parts areas, and storage spaces in an organized and audit-ready condition.\nParticipates in training and on-the-job learning to build capability toward Maintenance Tech II level performance.\nPerforms other facilities and maintenance duties as assigned.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nLimited local travel will be required.\nMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have constant control over workflow.\nMust be able to lift 45lbs.\nManual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers, HMIs, and other such equipment with small fine buttons and operators.\nRoutinely walking around in a production environment wearing PPE\nAbout Us\nPowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is a leading provider of innovative energy solutions to electric utilities and their industrial, institutional, and commercial customers.\nJoin Our Power Team!\nWe invest in high-value and cost-effective benefits for our employees.
