This role is focused on strengthening workforce capability through structured training programs, hands-on instruction, and targeted skills development.\nThe Trainer brings deep technical knowledge of switchgear and power generation assembly processes and serves as a trusted subject matter expert in training delivery. Equally important are strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills that enable effective knowledge transfer and development of others. This role bridges the gap between training and production, ensuring employees are prepared, confident, and consistently aligned with safety, quality, and operational expectations.\nMinimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):\nHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in a technical, manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.\n4+ years of experience in a manufacturing, electrical, or technical environment (switchgear, power generation, or similar preferred)\nPrior experience in training, coaching, onboarding, or workforce development strongly preferred\nExperience developing or delivering structured training programs preferred\nDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with production leadership\nStrong working knowledge with; electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and wiring diagrams; assembly standards, torque requirements, and quality practices;Manufacturing workflows and safety procedures\nExtensive knowledge of a wide variety of hand and power tools, with a strong focus on safe and effective operation\nKnowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies\nExcellent communication and presentation skills (classroom and hands-on)\nAbility to simplify complex technical concepts for varying skill levels\nStrong organizational and planning skills\nProblem-solving and continuous improvement mindset\nBilingual in English and Spanish preferred\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nLead structured onboarding programs for new technicians\nDeliver hands-on and classroom training on mechanical and electrical assembly processes\nEnsure new hires reach baseline competency in safety, quality, and production standards\nCreate a positive and engaging onboarding experience for new employees\nConduct ongoing training for technicians at all levels\nSupport skill progression from Technician I through Senior Technician\nPartner with leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs\nDevelop and maintain training materials, work instructions, and standard work\nContinuously improve training programs using feedback, performance data, and production needs\nSupport rollout of new processes, products, and changes through training initiatives\nModel and reinforce respectful behavior, accountability, integrity, and professional standards\nEnsure training aligns with safety policies and quality requirements\nParticipate in continuous improvement efforts related to workforce capability\nTrack and document training progress and skill development\nEnsure employee readiness before transitioning to independent work\nWorking Conditions:\nThis position is on-site 5 days per week.\nOccasional travel may be required for training or meetings.\nMust be able to work flexible hours to accommodate different business needs.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
