Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organisation’s financial management functions. Key duties include:

• Preparing accurate financial reports and account reconciliations.
• Supporting the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
• Managing cash flow, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Monitoring banking operations and managing cash transactions.
• Supporting internal and external auditing processes.
• Ensuring timely processing and remittance of statutory deductions in accordance with Kenyan regulations.
• Reviewing financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
• Maintaining proper accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Identifying discrepancies and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
• Supporting management with financial analysis and information for decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this Accountant position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA Advanced Level or finalist status.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or a similar role.
• Experience in the logistics industry will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience in banking operations and cash management.
• Knowledge of Kenyan statutory deductions and remittance procedures.
• Understanding of cash flow management and financial forecasting.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or financial management systems.
