Experienced people who excel in a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth power our success.\nAs an EHS Specialist, you will help manage a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety program for the PPG Kansas City and Oklahoma City facilities. You will report to the Sr. EHS Manager and help guide best practices to sustain our EHS mission. You will provide leadership and training to provide a safe workplace for our team members, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations to minimize all liabilities/risk. You will have close interaction with all levels of the manufacturing, technical and engineering organizations and provide an unified EHS message. The Sr. EHS Manager will manage this onsite role, which is based in our Kansas City, KS site.\nKey Responsibilities\nDedicate daily time on the production floor engaging (communicating, influencing, collaborating) with employees, supervisors and management to support a “One PPG” EHS culture.\nBe a coach and mentor to enhance the team's EHS capabilities.\nLead or participate in various safety teams and committees; Conduct monthly EHS trainings; Lead emergency response activities. \nConduct critical industrial hygiene and occupational health tasks such as air monitoring, noise monitoring, ventilation assessments, and personal protective equipment (PPE) programs. \nEvaluate the EHS Impacts of capital projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed.\nManage important safety programs including Job Safety Analysis, site safety risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.\nSupport site management and provide coaching and review of incident investigations and corrective actions through 5-Why and other incident investigation methods.\nProvide oversight, audit readiness and mentorship for compliance audits and corrective action management.\nHelp lead/support Site Safety Committee, LOTO Subcommittee and Ergonomic Subcommittee.\nDevelop programs to reduce EHS risks and to comply with regulatory and PPG corporate requirements and management systems.\nComplete and submit Federal, State, and Local environmental reports such as the OSHA logs, and be responsible for site permits.\nHelp with oversight of the Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal).\nHelp develop leading indicators that improve sustainability metrics (energy, water, waste), spill incidents, injuries and the EHS Management System.\nProvide onsite support to both the Oklahoma City and Kansas City plants. \nQualifications\nA Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering or a related science.\n3 or more years of experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or chemical industries.\nKnowledge of safety and environmental regulations. This includes consensus standards such as OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, and Workers' Compensation. Additionally, inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, and incident investigation techniques are necessary.\nKnowledge in organizational change and building a safety culture through influence and engagement.\nDemonstrated strength in collaborating with colleagues and leaders across all levels. \nDefine problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.\nPrime success factors include the ability to influence, be creative, provide unique points of view and promote a strong safety culture.\nTravel is required to the Oklahoma City plant (at least 5 days per month onsite).\nPPG offers comprehensive benefits such as Health, Dental, Life, Retirement Plan, Paid Vacation and Holidays, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Disability/Leave, Family Leave and other Voluntary benefit offerings.
