This role ensures proper tracking, storage, and movement of paint products and related materials to support order fulfillment, production, and customer service requirements.\nThe ideal candidate must be highly accurate with counting, have experience operating a pallet jack, be comfortable working at heights, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must also be willing to work overtime as needed to support business demands and maintain operational efficiency.\nKey Responsibilities\nInventory Accuracy\nPerform daily cycle counts and periodic full physical inventories\nInvestigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner\nMaintain accurate inventory records in warehouse management systems (WMS/ERP)\nProduct Tracking & Control\nMonitor inventory levels, lot numbers, batch codes, and expiration dates (where applicable)\nEnsure proper rotation of inventory (FIFO/FEFO) to minimize waste and obsolescence\nTrack hazardous materials in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements\nReceiving & Put-Away Support\nVerify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips\nEnsure materials are properly labeled and stored in designated locations\nIdentify and report damaged or non-conforming materials\nOrder Fulfillment Support\nAssist with picking verification to ensure accuracy of outgoing shipments\nSupport loading and unloading activities as needed to maintain workflow\nReporting & Documentation\nGenerate inventory reports and maintain logs for audits and compliance\nCommunicate inventory issues, shortages, and overages to leadership\nMaintain documentation related to inventory transactions and adjustments\nProcess Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency\nSupport implementation of standard work and best practices\nSafety & Compliance\nFollow all safety procedures, including proper handling of paints, coatings, and chemicals\nMaintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards\nParticipate in safety training and audits\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required\n1 to 3 years of inventory control or warehouse experience preferred\nPaint, coatings, or chemical distribution experience is a plus\nExperience with inventory systems such as SAP or Oracle preferred\nBasic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry\nExperience operating a pallet jack required\nAbility to work at heights and access elevated storage locations\nAbility to work overtime as needed\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong attention to detail and inventory accuracy\nAbility to perform accurate counts and reconcile discrepancies\nStrong organizational and time management skills\nAbility to work independently and prioritize workload effectively\nClear communication and teamwork skills\nBasic math and problem-solving abilities\nCommitment to safety and regulatory compliance\nAbility to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining accuracy and productivity\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds\nAbility to work at heights and access elevated inventory locations safely\nAbility to work in a warehouse environment around paints, coatings, and related materials\nAbility to work overtime as required to meet operational needs\nAbout us:\nPPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD ®\nThrough leadership in innovation, sustainability and color, PPG helps customers in industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction markets and aftermarkets to enhance more surfaces in more ways than does any other company.
