This includes formula design, preparation and application of coatings, and testing these coatings against a wide range of regional/global specifications and customer requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlan and conduct experimental work such as formulation, application and testing of coatings.\n\nAnalyze and interpret experimental results effectively to contribute to the development of new and improved product platforms.\n\nWork in conjunction with regional labs on the development of new product platforms.\n\nWork closely with customers and the regions to understand their needs and how to incorporate these needs into new product platforms.\n\nWork toward technical milestones and deliver results. Coordinate related activities including material sourcing, regulatory evaluation and application and testing.\n\nMaintain and grow an understanding of general industry coating processes, including details of key customer lines and use this information to inform the research and development of robust coating platforms.\n\nDevelop new test methods that will help to accelerate the assessment of new coatings and simulate customer line conditions to increase the speed and success rate of product launches.\n\nBuild and maintain a network with commercial and technical teams in all regions to communicate progress on projects and understand future needs.\n\nMaintain and communicate results through written and verbal summaries, coatings reports and gate review updates.\n\nWork safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards.\n\nQualifications\nRequires a degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science or Chemical Engineering.\n\nPreferred a Ph. D. Degree with 1+ years of relevant formulation development experience or a M.S. Degree with 4+ years of relevant formulation development experience.\n\nRelevant experience with experimental design (DOE) is desired.\n\nAbility to work independently and as a part of a team.
