To assist chemist on conclusions from the work and contribute to the development of new or improved product formulations. Under direction from supervisor, provide technical support for new and existing products.\nMain Responsibilities\nFollows direction and executes assigned experimentation with some involvement from supervisor, discuss work with supervisor daily.\n\nLogically organize a series of tasks to complete assigned experiment.\n\nRecord experimental output in a condensed, tabulated or graphic form to concisely and effectively communicate results and trends.\n\nWith guidance from supervisor, provides technical support to other functions.\n\nKeep lab appropriately supplied, keep basic equipment functioning and certifiably calibrated.\n\nUnderstand and consistently practice EHS processes relevant to the job in the working environment.\n\nOrganize, accurately carry out and draw conclusions from lab experiments following discussion with supervisors.\n\nEnsure all experimental work is fully recorded in appropriate lab notebooks, databases and where necessary, project reports.\n\nWork safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards.\n\nProvide technical support (closely guided by supervisor) to other functions especially sales and production.\n\nTo support ideas for lab work involving new product development, existing product improvement, formula cost reduction, processes and procedural improvement.\n\nQualifications\nCurrently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.\n\nStrong interest in laboratory work, product development, and testing activities.\n\nBasic understanding of laboratory practices, data recording, and safety procedures.\n\nAbility to document experimental results and prepare reports.\n\nKnowledge of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) practices is an added advantage.\n\nAvailable for a full-time internship of at least 6 months.\n\nAbout us:\nPPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD ®\nThrough leadership in innovation, sustainability and color, PPG helps customers in industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction markets and aftermarkets to enhance more surfaces in more ways than does any other company.
