Public Partnerships seeks consultants (also known as Support Brokers) to provide supports brokerage under contract with the California Department of Human Services. As a consultant, you will provide information and assistance to help participants exercise choice and control over their community services and supports, including helping them act as a household employer of their direct care workers. Primary responsibilities includes providing orientation and training on program rules; enrolling participants and their direct care workers; helping participants to develop a cash management plan (spending plan) for using their monthly budget; monitoring participant health and safety; and maintaining progress notes. Training will be provided.\nWatch the \"What We Do\" video on our website: https://www.publicpartnerships.com/about-us/# \nResponsibilities: \nManage Workload\nManage a Workload of up to 125 Program Participants \nMaintain required contact with assigned participants, monthly telephone calls \nRespond to participant inquiries \nMaintain email communication with participants, as needed \nResolve participant issues \nProvide participants with practical skills training in areas such as: \nLocating community resources \nRecruiting, selecting, hiring, training, and supervising employees \nPurchasing goods and services. \nManaging a monthly budget to pay for their direct care workers \n Assist participants to: \nEnroll in the California Self-Determination Program (SDP) \nComplete required enrollment paperwork \nIdentify community resources, services and supports to meet their life goals \nDevelop their spending plan and schedule their employees to stay within their monthly budget \nAssist direct care workers, to complete required paperwork to be employed by the participant. \nMonitor participant health and safety through monthly phone contact \nMaintain progress notes in accordance with NASW standards. \nReport and respond to participant complaints and grievances. \nAct as mandated reporter for allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation \nRequired Skills: \nAbility to manage own schedule and work independently with minimal supervision \nStrong Microsoft Office applications skills \nCommitment to exceptional client service \nCreative problem-solving ability and a consultancy mindset \nDedication to accomplishing goals and challenges presented by clients and management \nAbility to interact with various levels of management and with clients \nFlexible, self-starter possessing intellectual curiosity \nEnthusiasm for life-long learning and staying well-informed about current business issues \nProven ability to take initiative to move daily work forward \nAble to follow, critically evaluate, and improve upon current processes \nExcellent oral and written communication skills \nAbility to use sound judgment in completing tasks and to seek guidance when needed \nAbility to recognize issues and identify solutions \nQualifications:\nEducation: BA or BS degree in related field required, can be substituted for 4 or more years of related experience\n Experience: Minimum of two (2) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or senior citizens required; BA or BS degree in related field required, can be substituted for 4 or more years of related experience; Knowledge of Medicaid services preferred; Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.\nLocation: Remote - Must reside in the state of California.\nCompensation Range: $25.00 - $28.84 / hourly\nThis role is eligible for a base salary within the posted range. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and geographic location.
