The instructor will facilitate and implement the program by delivering the standard curriculum designed for each EBHI program in a meaningful way that uses exploratory facilitation to support participants on their healthy living journey. The Instructor will help guide participants through the completion of the program by teaching proper use of equipment, motivating participants, communicating effectively to participants and YMCA staff, and entering all data into WELLD database in a timely manner.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nInstructs the classes in accordance with YMCA and EBHI program guidelines.\nAbility to work with members to address the whole person’s well-being, including spirit, mind and body.\nPerform pre and post assessments of participants for the programs that call for that reporting.\nEmphasize individual ownership of behavior change.\nBecome knowledgeable with using the WELLD database and enter all information needed for each EBHI program weekly.\nFoster relationships with and between participants.\nCreates a motivating environment that is friendly and non-competitive.\nFacilitates activities, as appropriate, refers adults to other YMCA programs as deemed beneficial.\nPrepare before each class (i.e. develops plans for games/activities, review content for class, reminder call to participants).\nProvide accessibility to participants both before and after sessions to answer questions and follow-up on any questions you cannot answer during class time.\nFollow-up with participants if they are unable to attend class for missed information or handouts that were given.\nSupport and encourage goal setting on a weekly basis.\nArrive for class on time and dressed appropriately.\nFoster healthy living behaviors in a holistic manner\nMaintains records as required (i.e. attendance, speaker feedback, surveys, homework documentation). Data must be entered within 48 hours of session and sent to Association Offices for grant reporting weekly..\nAttends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.\nFollows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.\nOrganizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.\nAssists Guest Speakers as needed, supports participants in all areas of the program.\nPerform additional responsibilities and duties upon request.\nYMCA COMPETENCIES (Leader)\nMission Advancement : Models and teaches the Y’s values.
