Reporting directly to the CFO, this role leads worldwide accounting operations across North America, Europe, and South America, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.As a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Audit Committee, the Global Controller provides financial leadership, governance oversight, and technical expertise to support organizational growth and enterprise decision-making. Beyond maintaining accounting excellence, this leader drives financial transformation through process modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives while building and developing a high-performing global accounting organization. The role is critical in ensuring the integrity of the Company's financial reporting framework, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the successful execution of strategic business objectives.\nGlobal Controllership & Accounting Operations:\nLead all aspects of global accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, consolidations, reconciliations, multi-entity and multi-currency international accounting, and governance framework.\nDrive the financial close processes and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\nChampion accounting system enhancements, ERP optimizations, and automation tools to streamline financial reporting and close cycles.\nExternal Reporting & SEC Compliance:\nOversee SEC reporting processes, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.\nLead development of segment reporting, critical accounting estimates, and required financial statement disclosures.\nTechnical & Revenue Accounting:\nProvide leadership and oversight for technical accounting matters, including complex transactions, acquisitions, goodwill, derivatives, hedging activities, and new business initiatives.\nDevelop, maintain, and communicate accounting policies in compliance with U.S. GAAP and lead the implementation of new accounting standards.\nOversee accounting for finance receivables and revenue recognition (ASC Topic 326 / CECL).\nLead revenue accounting governance practices.\nTax:\nLead global tax accounting, compliance, and planning activities\nPartner with external advisors on tax planning and risk management.\nGovernance, Audit & Stakeholder Management:\nServe as the primary relationship manager with external auditors and coordinate all audit-related activities.\nPartner closely with the Audit Committee, executive leadership, Investor Relations, FP&A and Legal to communicate significant accounting, reporting, risk, and control matters.\nServe as the primary liaison to the Audit Committee on accounting and reporting matters as well as agenda planning activities.\nEnsure a strong internal control environment and support enterprise governance, compliance, and risk management initiatives.\nFinance Transformation, Strategic Insights & Other:\nDrive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, controls, and operational efficiencies leveraging technology.\nProvide strategic insights and actionable financial analysis, performance and profitability assessments to support business growth and shareholder value creation.\nSupport mergers and acquisitions, capital market activities, strategic growth initiatives, and other corporate transactions.\nServe as a key member of the Company's Disclosure Committee and maintain effective disclosure controls and procedures.\nLeadership/Supervisory Responsibilities & Level:\nLead, mentor, train and develop a multi-location global accounting team.\nDrive the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of employees in accordance with policies and applicable laws.\nFoster a culture of innovation, upskilling, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nOversee recruitment, development, engagement, and retention of talent within the function.\nProfessional Experience/Qualifications:\nAt least 8-10 years of leadership experience within a large, complex global financial services organization, ideally in the financial services industry.\nA bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required. CPA required. M.B.A. preferred.\nExtensive experience leading U.S. GAAP and international entity accounting (e.g., IFRS), SEC and financial reporting, and internal controls functions.\nExperience managing external audits.\nPrior public accounting experience. \nStrong knowledge of accounting systems, financial processes, ERP platforms, and internal control frameworks.\nDemonstrated success executing finance transformation initiatives in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.\nProven track record of managing global, multi-cultural accounting teams, influencing and collaborating across matrixed global organizations.\nDemonstrated executive presence, with experience presenting to Audit Committees, and strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.\nStrategic thinker with ability to deliver on organizational objectives.\nStrong analytical capabilities, with a problem-solving mindset, and ability to make decisions in a timely manner while weighing risks and rewards.\nCurious and innovative with an external lens on operational and technology changes that would be additive to internal processes.\nHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical leadership.\nTalent development, coaching, and succession planning expertise.\nExperience supporting strategic business initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets financing, and deconsolidation matters.\nFinancial services, specialty finance, consumer lending, asset management, receivables management, or related industry experience preferred. Familiarity with debt purchasing and collections business models a plus.\nSalary: $300,000 plus bonus\nSalary Range:\nPRA Group has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, specific working location and market position. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and PRA Group reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications and location of the selected candidate. In addition to base salary, PRA may offer additional benefits to include performance based bonus programs and/or equity programs depending on the position.
