Practice Plus Group Hospital Plymouth has a CQC Good rating and provides excellent healthcare to the population of Plymouth and the south west region, including Cornwall, Isles of Scilly and all of Devon. We are an elective surgical centre providing arthroplasty surgery, orthopaedics, general surgery, endoscopy and cataract surgery.\nThe clinical services include Outpatients, Day Surgery Unit, Inpatient Ward, Theatres, Endoscopy suite, Radiography, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy with care provided by a multidisciplinary team.\nThe ward is 30 bedded and staffed 24/7 by nurses, nurse associates and healthcare assistants. We are looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and inspiring nurse leader as our inpatient Ward Shift Leader. This is an exciting time to join PPG Plymouth as we are increasing our clinical activity and growing our teams. The inpatient ward primarily cares for our post-operative arthroplasty patients with some general surgery and other orthopaedic surgery patients.\nShifts:\n07:30 - 20:00 (day shift)\n19:30 - 08:00 (night shift)\nShifts cover 7 day service including weekends and some bank holidays. Additional rate applied to unsocial hours, applicable to night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.\nWhat you'll be doing\nAs well as undertaking basic ward duties you will act as clinical lead, providing clear and consistent communication to the multidisciplinary team, achieving high morale based on sound organisation. All of our work is planned so you will be able to plan your week with ease knowing your work schedule won’t change.\nYou will liaise with the wider Practice Plus Group medical team to ensure the patient’s treatment is carried out whilst maintaining the principles of patient confidentiality.\nYour sound clinical and Infection control knowledge combined with your ability to solve problems and think both literally and laterally will enable you to teach and train others in your team.
