The role combines architecture, design, implementation, and day-to-day administration, with responsibility for onboarding new services, adapting solutions to evolving technologies and customer needs, and ensuring reliable, secure, and recoverable infrastructure\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced Storage and Backup Engineer with at least 8 years of handson experience in supporting, designing, managing and optimizing enterprise storage and backup environments. The candidate will work under the guidance of the Team Lead, Infrastructure Operations, and collaborate with other support teams. The candidate is expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to service improvements and the ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign and implement enterprise storage and backup architectures aligned with business, availability, recovery, capacity, and security requirements.\n\nAdminister and maintain storage arrays, SAN fabrics, and backup platforms, including daily health checks, storage provisioning, host integration, backup client configuration, schedules, retention policies, and replication.\n\nPlan and execute installations, upgrades, migrations, capacity expansions, and proof-ofconcept deployments, including testing, validation, and rollback procedures.\nMonitor and analyze system health, performance, capacity, and backup success; resolve bottlenecks and implement improvements.\n\nResolve incidents, problems, and service requests; provide Tier 3 support, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.\n\nPerform restores and recovery tests, and support disaster-recovery exercises to validate data protection and recovery capabilities.\n\nApply security controls, hardening standards, and approved configuration changes in accordance with established policies and change-management procedures.\n\nCollaborate with vendors and internal teams on maintenance, upgrades, interoperability, and complex issue resolution.\n\nDevelop and maintain tools and scripts to automate storage and backup provisioning, monitoring, reporting, and routine operations.\n\nDeliver storage and backup projects for the organization and its partner entities, including technical assessments, business cases, project proposals, and operational handover.\n\nMaintain technical designs, configuration records, runbooks, and recovery procedures; share knowledge and promote best practices within the team.\n\nParticipate in standby/on-call duties, planned maintenance, and other service-coverage arrangements when required.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nMinimum 8+ years of relevant IT work experience in managing and configuring enterprise Storage and Backup environments and related services in a complex heterogenous environment\n\nExtensive hands-on experience in the administration and troubleshooting of block and file storage systems across multiple vendor platforms (e.g., NetApp, Dell PowerStore, Dell ECS systems)\n\nExcellent knowledge in the installation and administration of Enterprise Backup systems (e.g., DELL Avamar, PPDM, Data Domain, Veeam B&R and other market leaders in backup solutions)\n\nExpert-level troubleshooting and problem resolution for storage and backup infrastructures.\n\nSolid understanding and knowledge of storage technologies (Cisco/Brocade Fabric switches, VSANs, WWPNs, NPIV, multipathing, Fibre channel, iSCSI)\n\nStrong understanding of data protection, disaster recovery, and best practices in backup and storage management.\n\nGood understanding and knowledge of networking technologies\n\nWorking Experience in shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform)\n\nAbility to work under pressure with minimum supervision\n\nCustomer-centric approach to delivery and problem solving\n\nGood knowledge of ITIL service management methodology\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with Hyper Converged Infrastructure or Software Defined Storage solutions is an advantage\n\nGood presentation skills and ability to convey complex technical information to nontechnical audience\n\nExperience with service reporting and business analytics\n\nExperience with cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage)\n\nExperience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)\n\nIndustry-recognized certifications in Storage, Backup, or Cloud Technologies.\n\nCertifications in any programming language or scripting framework (e.g., Python, Ansible, PowerShell).\n\nITIL, ISO20000, PRINCE2 certifications\n\nWorking Conditions\nTeleworking: up to 5 days per week\n\nOn-call: one week per month (rotation depends on the number of team members)\n\nOvertime must be pre-approved by the client Team Leader\n\nOvertime rates: 125% of the daily rate Monday to Saturday, and 150% on Sundays and client public holidays\n\nStand-by availability for on-call services is included in the daily rate\n\nInterventions during an on-call period are billed at the overtime rates above\n\nOvertime and on-call interventions may alternatively be compensated with time off, if mutually agreed by both parties\n\nPragmatike is committed to a fair, transparent, and inclusive recruitment process.
