A Shop Foreman is a front-line supervisor: a person who plans, organizes, and controls the operations of the shop; supervises, trains, and develops staff; provides advice to management and staff; and performs other duties as outlined below:\nRole Duties & Responsibilities:\nAssist in ensuring that standard enforcement of all rules and regulations is enforced in the shop. All shop personnel and other employees working in the shop or yard must always use the proper PPE and follow company safe work procedures.\nEnsure daily safety and pre-job hazard assessments are being conducted by all mechanics. Ensure all “Out OF Scope” work is proceeded by a specific hazard assessment on the task to be completed. \nAssist in ensuring that all operations conducted within PWS facility follow the company policies and government regulations to the best of their ability.\nEnsure all purchase order protocol is adhered to. \nQuality control of all equipment that is associated with the branch. This also includes project work or inter branch transfer from other stations It is the shop foreman’s responsibility to check equipment for adequate field readiness prior to equipment leaving the yard.\nEnsure DOT and CAOEC requirements are followed and adhered to.\nAssist in ensuring that all safety and environment tools are always in their proper place and in good condition. These include Manuals, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, dust / vapor masks, first aid kits, logbooks, eye wash stations, spill absorbents, fall arrest and so on. \nEnsure that shop personnel are warned about any hazards that may be present, or that may occur during any phase of operation as well as document.\nEnsure that hazardous materials are removed and disposed of per Government regulations. For EG: batteries, oils, rags, WHIMS control products and containers, etc.\nDispatching shop staff as well including self to the field for support / service calls and arranging their on call rotation. \nScheduling equipment coming through the shop and delegating assigned work in the shop (under supervision of the TSC Manager).\nWorking closely with management in scheduling project work in a respectable and timely manner.\nResponsible for weekly parts inventories and ordering of stock, upon approval of TSC Manager.\nResponsible for shop and yard safety, providing work orders as well as orientations of third-party companies or new employees working in our yard. This also includes housekeeping.\nMonthly shop inspections as well as weekly equipment inventories.\nInitiating safety reporting, support ongoing investigations.\nOther duties as required.\nMechanical duties (pulling wrenches)\nHold and maintain the CVIP license for the shop.\nEducation & Experience:\nKnowledge of the company policies, procedures, and guidelines for operations.\nKnowledgeable in equipment requirements, function and understanding of repair/maintenance practices.\n10 + years’ Industry experience, specifically with service rigs.\n10 + years’ experience as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician.\n3 + years of supervisory experience. \nSkills & Competencies:\nStrong Initiative as well excellent teamwork and team building skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills that maintain credibility and a positive working environment.\nExhibits enthusiasm and commitment to motivate self and others. \nAble to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.\nProven systematic and organized approach to multi-tasking.\nStrong problem solving and analytical skills.\nIntermediate computer skills.\nPrecision Well Servicing is the largest service rig provider in Canada, with an impressive fleet of equipment and strong relationships with top-tier companies, all of which enable us to provide you with the rewarding career you are searching for.\nWe thank all candidates for their interest in Precision Well Servicing.
