This position ensures equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and safety of the facility. The role serves as a key liaison with vendors, supports Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives, participates in emergency response activities, and provides ownership / main point of contact for facilities and equipment maintenance programs.\nEssential functions of the job include but are not limited to:\nGeneral Duties:\nTrack and update database tasks as required, including scheduled and unscheduled tasks performed or managed.\nCommunicate with Site leadership on a regular basis for all safety, facilities and equipment related priority items.\nEscalate issues based on risk and urgency.\nEquipment Requirements: \nPerform, coordinate, and oversee maintenance, calibration, qualification, validation, and repair activities for repository refrigeration equipment, laboratory instrumentation, and associated support equipment.\nSchedule preventive maintenance and maintain repair histories, calibration records, and validation documentation within the electronic asset management system.\nLead or support qualification and validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for new equipment.\nInvestigate equipment failures, determine root causes, support corrective actions, and participate in NCE/CAPA investigations when required.\nReview maintenance performance, equipment utilization, downtime trends, and other key metrics and provide reports to management.\nCreate, revise, and maintain SOPs and related documentation for equipment operation, calibration, maintenance, and qualification activities.\nProvide technical support, including facilities and equipment expertise to laboratory and operational departments\nFacility Operations: \nPerform, coordinate, and oversee inspection, maintenance, and repair activities for facility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, backup power systems, plumbing, roofing, security systems, and central monitoring systems.\nOversee, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage monitoring and alarm systems supporting facility operations.\nAct as the primary point of contact for facility alarms, equipment monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.\nEvaluate facility and infrastructure issues and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and external service providers.\nAssist in planning, design, renovation, and build-out activities for existing and future facilities.\nVendor Management & Procurement:\nCoordinate vendor maintenance services, troubleshooting activities, quotations, work orders, site access, and service documentation to ensure work is completed safely and effectively.\nSupport procurement, installation, and commissioning of new laboratory and facility equipment, supplies, PPE, and related resources.\nCollaborate with site leadership and laboratory personnel to support equipment lifecycle management and operational requirements.\nSafety, Compliance & Emergency Response:\nSupport facility safety programs and maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.\nCommunicate regularly with EHS Global Team\nPerform routine inspections of safety equipment, including eyewash stations, safety showers, fire extinguishers, and related systems.\nServe as an active member of the Safety Committee and support safety training, drills, inspections, and awareness activities.\nSupport facility, client, regulatory, and quality audit activities as requested.\nParticipate in the facility emergency response and on-call rotation program, including responding to equipment, facility, and business continuity events within established response times.\nSupport EHS related activities.\nMiscellaneous: \nRemain current on emerging facility technologies, monitoring systems, and industry best practices.\nProvides metrics to leadership concerning equipment scheduling, downtime, errors, and other key performance indicators as assigned.\nParticipate in specimen relocation activities as required.\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\nQualifications:\nMinimum Required:\nBachelors degree or equivalent\n2 years plus related experience in mechanical or maintenance, including experience with back-up power supply and switch gear equipment\nOther Required:\nMust possess a valid driver’s license allowing you to drive in the state(s) you drive in \nAble to travel, including overnight stays\nMust have and maintain a safe driving record and provide proof of such on an annual basis.\nMust be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language\nMust be proficient in Microsoft Office\nPreferred:\nFormal training in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR)\nConcentration in Engineering\nPrecision is required by law in some states or cities to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
